Молитва Церковної Спільноти Отче Наш У молитві Прохальної єктенії перед Отче наш ми, вручаючи все життя наше і надію Господеві, молимося, щоб Він сподобив нас причаститися Святих дарів “на відпущення гріхів, на прощення прогрішень, на спільність зі Святим Духом, на насліддя Царства Небесного, на сміливість перед Ним, не на суд і не в осудження”, щоб “зі сміливістю, неосудно сміти призивати небесного Бога Отця.” Господня молитва передує Євхаристійному Причастю ще й тому, що Бог Отець – не “мій” чи “твій”, але “наш”, і Він нас єднає навколо Господньої трапези. До того ж єдність вимагає і взаємного прощення: “Прости нам провини наші, як і ми прощаємо винуватцям нашим.” Святий Апостол Павло виразно перестерігає перед недостойним прийманням Причастя. Взивання до Бога Отця в Господній молитві “є знаком того особового й дійсного усиновлення, яке буде нам дароване через дар і благодать Святого Духа i згідно з яким через зшестя благодаті будуть покриті і перетворені усі людські властивості.” У молитві після “Отче наш” священик молиться, щоб Господь як “Лікар душ і тілес” своє пречисте Тіло і Кров “всім нам на добро рівно подав.” Церква запрошує вірних до Святого Причастя виголосом “Святеє святим.” Це одночасно і запрошення, і пересторога. Вірні приступають до Святих Дарів не тому, що уважають себе достойними, а тому, що належні до святої Церкви; вірні є святими не власною святістю, а тому, що вони є Тіло Христове, Храм Святого Духа. Це й сповідуємо словами: “Єдин свят, єдин Господь, Ісус Христос.” При цьому на кожному з нас лежить відповідальність приступати до Причастя з чистою совістю, щоб це поєднання відбулося “не на суд і не в осудження.” Перед Причастям, для означення зішестя Святого Духа на Церкву, диякон вливає в чашу теплу воду (“теплоту”) зі словами: “Теплота віри, повна Святого Духа.” “Як Святий Дух зійшов на Церкву після завершення Христом спасіння, так тепер сходить після приношення жертви й освячення Дарів на тих, хто удостоєний їх причаститися.” Додавання теплоти також означає, що Святі дари є Тілом і Кров’ю живого – Воскреслого Христа.

The Prayer of the Church Community The “Our Father” In the prayer of the Litany of Supplication before the Our Father, we entrust our whole life and our hope to the Lord. We pray that he would grant us to communicate of the Holy Gifts “for forgiveness of sins, for the pardon of offenses, for fellowship of the Holy Spirit, for the inheritance of the kingdom of heaven, for confidence before [God], and not for judgment or condemnation,” and that “with confidence and without condemnation, we may dare call ... the heavenly God, Father.” Hie Lord’s Prayer precedes Eucharistic communion also because God is not my or your Father, but our Father, and he unites us around the Lord’s Banquet table. Such unity also requires forgiveness: “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” Hie apostle Paul distinctly warns us about unworthy reception of Communion. Invoking God the Father in the Lord’s Prayer is “a symbol of the personal and real adoption to be bestowed through the gift and grace of the Holy Spirit. In accordance with it... every human particularity’ [i.e., faculty] is overcome and disclosed by the coming of grace.” In the prayer after the Our Father, the priest prays that the Lord, as the “Physician of our souls and bodies,” grant us his Body and Blood “in accord with each one’s personal need.” The Church invites the faithful to Holy Communion with the exclamation, “The holy Things for the holy!” These words are at once an invitation and a warning. Hie faithful approach the Holy Gifts not because they consider themselves worthy but because they belong to the holy Church; the faithful are holy not by their own holiness but because they are the Body of Christ, the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Hiis is what we profess in the response: “One is holy, one is Lord, Jesus Christ.” Nonetheless, each of us is responsible for approaching Communion with a clean conscience, so that this union would not be “for judgment or condemnation.” Before Communion, the deacon pours some hot water (in Greek, zeon) into the chalice, pronouncing the words: “The warmth of faith full of the Holy Spirit.” Doing so he signifies the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Church. “[The Church] received the Holy Spirit after our Lord’s Ascension; now she receives the gift of the Holy Spirit after the offerings have been accepted at the heavenly altar; God, who has accepted, then sends us the Holy Spirit in return.” The adding of hot water also signifies that the Holy Gifts are the Body and Blood of the living Risen Christ. Причастя: трапеза Тіла і Крові Причастя Тіла і Крові Господніх увінчує Євхаристійну трапезу. Причастя “перетворює тих, що гідно причащаються, у те, чим воно є, і через благодать і співучасть уподібнює їх до Того, хто є Благим за природою, наскільки це можливе й досяжне для людей. Тому вони можуть дійсно називатись і бути богами через усиновлення і благодать, адже Бог цілковито їх наповнює і не залишає в них нічого, що було б позбавлене Його присутності.” Завдяки святому Причастю ми досягаємо богоподібності: приймаємо Христа у наше життя, а Христос робить нас учасниками Божої природи. Як Христос на Тайній Вечері дав апостолам Своє Тіло і Кров, так і священик причащає вірних, які благоговійно, схрестивши руки на грудях, підходять до амвона перед царськими дверима. Слова молитви перед святим Причастям: “Вечері твоєї Тайної днесь, Сину Божий, мене причасника прийми” пояснюють суть Трапези Господньої і всієї Літургії. Святий Йоан Золотоустий навчає: “Тож вірте, що сьогодні готується та сама Вечеря, у якій Він сам брав участь. Одна від одної нічим не відрізняються. Не можна казати, що цю готувала людина, а ту – Христос; навпаки, і цю, і ту готував і готує Він сам.” Споживаючи святі Дари, ми причащаємося Тіла і Крові Христа: “Хто споживає тіло Моє і кров Мою п’є, той у Мені перебуває, а Я – в ньому” та уподібнюємося до Христа, набуваючи і божественного “способу мислення”: як Бог дарував Себе нам, так і ми, повністю даруючи себе Богові й іншим людям, маємо життя вічне. Через причащання Тіла і Крові Христових наше життя повністю є в Бозі: “Живу вже не я, а живе Христос у мені.” Благодарення за Причастя і відпуст Після Святого Причастя священик закликає вірних подякувати Господеві за отриманий дар: “Прості, прийнявши [...] животворящих Христових Таїн, достойно подякуймо Господеві.” Вірні, як і апостоли в день П’ятдесятниці, несуть цей дар нового життя у світ. “У мирі” Христовому Церква розпочала свою молитву, Його миром-благословенням збагатилася та з Його миром іде в світ: “У мирі вийдім.” Про це Церква й просить Отця – Джерела “всякого звершеного дару” – при виході з храму: “Мир світові Твоєму даруй, Церквам Твоїм, ієреям, Тобою береженому народові нашому, правлінню і всім людям Твоїм.” Божественна Літургія “нині” закінчилася, однак продовжується в щоденному житті вірних як їхнє служіння у світі, тобто “літургія після Літургії.” Дійсність прийдешнього віку, щойно пережита літургійно, поширюється на цілий світ і переображує його. “Христос, що воскрес із мертвих, істинний Бог наш… помилує і спасе нас” і посилає у світ, щоб через нас, оновлених у Христі, діяти. Communion: The Banquet of the Body and Blood Communion of the Body and Blood of the Lord is the culmination of the Eucharistic Banquet. [Communion] transforms into itself those who worthily partake of it, making them similar to that good which is [their] source by means of grace and participation. They lack nothing of this good that is possible and can be attained by human beings. Therefore they also are and can be called gods by adoption through grace because all of God entirely fills them and leaves no part of them empty' of his presence. Through Holy Communion we achieve a divine likeness: we receive Christ into our lives, and Christ makes us partakers of the divine nature. As Christ offered the apostles his Body and Blood at the Mystical Supper, so the priest communicates the faithfill who piously, with hands crossed on their breast, approach the ambo before the Royal Doors. The words of the Prayer before Communion, “Accept me this day, O Son of God, as a partaker of your mystical Supper,” explain the essence of the Lord’s Banquet, and of the entire Liturgy. Saint John Chrysostom teaches: “Believe, therefore, that even now it is that supper, at which he himself sat down. For this is in no respect different from that. For neither does man make this and himself the other; but both this and that is his own work.” Consuming the Holy Gifts, we communicate in the Body and Blood of Christ: “Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood abide in me, and I in them.” We become similar to Christ and acquire a divine way of thinking: as God granted himself to us, so we, in fully giving ourselves to God and to others, have life eternal. Through communion in the Body and Blood of Christ, our life is fully in God: “It is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me.” Thanksgiving for Communion and the Dismissal After Holy Communion, the deacon invites the faithful to render thanks to the Lord for the Gifts received: “Stand aright! Having received ... the life-giving ... Mysteries of Christ, let us rightly give thanks to the Lord.” Just as the apostles did on the day of Pentecost, so the faithful carry this gift of new life into the world. “In peace” the Church of Christ began her prayer, by his peace — his blessing — she was enriched, and with his peace she goes out into the world: “Let us go forth in peace.” This is what she asks of the Father, the Source of “every perfect gift” as she leaves the church building: “Grant peace to your world, to your Churches, to our priests, to our nation under God, to our government, and to all your people.” The Divine Liturgy today has ended, but it continues in the everyday life of the faithful as their service in the world, as “the liturgy after the Liturgy.” The reality of the coming age, which was just experienced liturgically, spreads to the whole world and transfigures it. “Christ our true God, risen from the dead ... will have mercy and save us.” Renewed in him, Christ sends us into the world so that through us he may act in the world. In its final “Amen” the liturgical community expresses its anticipation of the perfect fulfilment of God’s kingdom. (Christ our Pascha-#384-392)
