Saturday, April 6, 2019 Polish Center of Discovery & Learning at Elms College, Chicopee, MA
The Polish Center of Discovery and Learning is a living monument that celebrates the many contributions, both past and present, made to the economy, arts, and sciences of our nation by Polish people and their descendants. The mission of the Center at Elms College is to preserve objects representative of the material culture of the Polish peo-ple in America.
First stop is lunch at the German restaurant Munich Haus. Choose off the menu from a large selection of entrees in addition: signature chips & dip, salad with choice dressing, local rye, bread Dessert Station - tortes & cookies, cof-fee & tea. After lunch we will enjoy a guided tour and lecture at the Polish Center. Depart Holy Cross Church Parking Lot on Biruta St at 10:30 am. Estimate return is 5:30 pm. Cost is $80. Make checks payable to Sacred Heart Ladies Guild. Payment is due February 22, 2019.
Thursday, June 6, 2019 Celebration of Peonies at Hiddene, Manchester, VT
Hiddene, the summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln (son of Abraham Lincoln) with a garden promontory overlooking Battenkill Valley with spectacular view of the mountains of Vermont. The garden will be away in more than 1,000 peony blooms. We will tour both the interior of the home and the grounds. Prior to visiting Hiddene a lunch at the Wilburton Inn. Menu: season greens with maple vinaigrette, choice of Beef Stroganoff OR Chicken Breast with a Citrus Wine Sauce, Roasted Potatoes, Seasonal Roasted Vegetables, Apple Oatmeal Crisp & Wilcox Ice Cream, Coffee & Tea. ST. JOSEPH MEDAL
Each year the Archbishop awards the St. Joseph Medal to a pa-rishioner or couple from each parish in recognition of their faith-ful service to the parish. The 2019 recipients from Sacred Heart Parish is Matthew Szylobryt in recognition of his dedicated work to Sacred Heart Parish. The Archbishop will present the St. Jo-seph Medal at the Cathedral, on Sunday, March 31 at a 3:00 p.m. ceremony (no Mass). All are invited to attend. Our previous parish recipients of the St. Joseph Medal were: Florence Ka-liszewski, Stanley Pac, Florence Gaj, Henry Talalaj, Stanisława Grzyszek, Richard Drobot, Christine & Ronald Wasielewski, Janina Owczynko, Paul R. Popielarczyk, Anna Lenczewski & Donald Lukowski, Maryann Smialowski, John Podbielski, Stanisław Jankowski & Steven & Lilia Kieltyka.
Medal św. Józefa
Każdego roku Arcybiskup odznacza osobę lub parę małżeńską medalem św. Józefa za ich pracę w danej parafii. W 2019r. medal św. Józefa otrzyma Matthew Szylobryt z parafii Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa w uznaniu za ich oddaną pracę w parafii. Arcybiskup przekaże medal Świętego Józefa podczas uroczystości w katedrze, w niedzielę, 31 marca o godz. 3:00 po południu (bez mszy św.). Wszyscy są zaproszeni.
