Peter has been playing nationally and internationally for over 25 years and has experience in a wide range of styles, including comedy cabaret, flamenco, Latino, Middle Eastern, African, jazz, funk, pop/rock and folk. In addition to performing his own bands, Peter regularly plays with Grammy Award winner John Rees, and ARIA Award winners Kavisha Mazzella and Irini Vela. Peter's singing and drumming can be heard on over 20 commercial releases. His most recent album is 'Devotion to Rhythm', by Vadiveloo Belfrage. Peter is also an experienced teacher and workshop leader. In addition to teaching in schools, Peter presents workshops for both music teachers and the general public WHERE: NEWPORT SCOUT HALL 20-24 Market St Newport WHEN: Saturday , 23 rd June 2012, 1 - 5pm COST: $30, $25 Members, $16 Concession Feeling a bit rhythmically challenged? Always wanted to be more comfortable playing that drum/tambourine/shaker? Then this is the workshop for YOU!! Dynamic drummer, percussionist, teacher and performer Peter Vadiveloo will lead you on a wonderful journey of rhythm. This workshop will involve vocal, body and instrumental percussion. By the end of the workshop you will feel more confident when playing rhythm. ‘Feel the Rhythm’ will improve your rhythmic understanding even if you primarily play non-percussion instruments. ‘Feel the Rhythm’ is for people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities - from novices to skilled, from kids to adults. Bring your favourite percussion instrument. If you haven’t got one, one will be supplied. And most of all – it will be fun!
