Brief History:  Felin Isaf means Lower Mill. There were threeWater Mills along this stream which is called Nant y Garreg Ddu,the smaller of the two was built on the site in 1680.  The largerMill was built in 1740 and is much advanced in design.  Millingcontinued until 1942 when the stones were used for milling cattlefeed.  The buildings were then allowed into fall into disrepair butin 1976 they were Listed as being of historic and architecturalinterest.  Renovation work began in 1978 with the aid of a JobCreation Scheme under an Historic Building Grant.  Since then theMill has won the following awards for outstanding contributionsto the conservation of local architecture and heritage -  Prince ofWales Award, Civic Trust Aware, Times/Royal Institute CharteredSurveyors Conservation Award.  This is a Grade II Listedproperty.
