Felixstowe & Walton United FC PROGRAMME INFO First Team Management & Players Updated: 13/12/2019 History Felixstowe & Walton United Football Club aka ‘The Seasiders’ were formed in 2000 from two football clubs who were independent in their own right although they had merged briefly just prior to the Second World War to be called Felixstowe United (not to be confused with the present day Felixstowe United (Now Felixstowe Harpers United) who play in The Suffolk & Ipswich League) The joining lasted until 1952 when the clubs went their separate ways. Formed in 1895, Walton United played at The Recreation ground in Recreation Way Walton while Felixstowe Town, formed five years earlier played at The Town Ground, Dellwood Avenue. The second amalgamation in 2000 looked a good marriage for the right reasons. Walton United had just won the Suffolk Senior Cup and were on the up but with nowhere to go as the Recreation ground at Walton could not accommodate Eastern Counties League standard facilities. Felixstowe Town had been renamed Felixstowe Port & Town due to their sponsorship by the Port, but when that was withdrawn in 1999/2000 it left the Town club struggling to recover and maintain Eastern Counties League football. It looked and proved to be a good decision by both clubs that they therefore merged with Dellwood Avenue becoming their home Venue. It was a struggle in the early years after the merger with relegation coming in 2002, but it offered the chance for the club to regroup and focus on the future with a growing youth set up and getting the basics right off the pitch and the club regained Premier Division status in 2006 when they finished runners up in Division One. Tied by what can be done at their present home the club always found it difficult to compete with the top sides in the Premier Division with what was the unique task of raising and lowering of the floodlights before and after games and the restrictions placed on the club by the local authorities. The Seasiders remained positive throughout and now have the lights permanently erected during the football season and have an excellent youth set up including junior non-competitive youngsters at under 8 plus four girls sides and provide sporting facilities on The Peninsula from six through to adulthood. At the end of the 2016/17 season a new clubhouse opened up pitchside to replace the old one which has transformed the club and by the end of the 2017/18 season, the Seasiders gained promotion to the Isthmian North Division at Step 4 for the first time in the clubs history and finished a respectable mid-table position. Felixstowe & Walton United Football Club  aka  ‘The Seasiders’ were formed in 2000 from two football clubs who were independent in their own right although they had merged briefly just prior to the Second World War to be called Felixstowe United (not to be confused with the present day Felixstowe United (Now Felixstowe Harpers United) who play in The Suffolk & Ipswich League) The joining lasted until 1952 when the clubs went their separate ways.Formed in 1895, Walton United played at The Recreation ground in Recreation Way Walton while Felixstowe Town, formed five years earlier played at The Town Ground, Dellwood Avenue. (GK) JACK SPURLINGHe made his first team appearance at 16 for Woodbridge, he has also played for Ipswich Wanderers, Brantham Athletic and Leiston. Jack is a tremendous shot stopper with a physical presence and has become a fans favourite.

DANIEL DAVISCentre Back - With over appearances for club 'Denzil' is a powerful centre back with a no nonsense approach to the game. Great in the air and a strong tackler.A very popular member of the squad, loved by fans and swept the floor winning all 3 senior player awards last season

STUART AINSLEYDefender/Midfielder - Stuart joined the club for his second spell in the summer of 2014 from Lowestoft Town after their promotion to the Football Conference due to work commitments. A former youth player at Ipswich Town Stuart has a sweet left foot and a great work ethic.

JOSH KERRIDGEDefender/Midfielder - Josh joined the club from AFC Sudbury three seasons ago and has this season been converted from a midfielder to centre back. Comfortable on the ball, strong in the air Josh has been a revelation chipping in with his share of the goals.

CALLUM BENNETTRight Back - Callum is in his second spell at the club having re-joined in late 2018. An attacking full back with one of the best ball deliveries in nonleague football. Callum has plenty of experience from his time at Ipswich U18s, Stoke City U21s and Notts County.

MILES POWELLForward - ‘Milo’ spent the 2014/15 season with Whitton United returning to the Seasiders where he learnt his trade. There has never been any doubt in his natural football ability but Milo has now become one of the most prolific goal scorers the club has ever had.

JORDAN MATTHEWSMidfielder - Jordy a one club man and a manager’s dream. Equally happy in midfield or in the No10 shirt. Always gives a 110% and somehow covers every blade of grass. With his fair share of goals and tackles he is a great all round player.

JAMAL WIGGINSMidfielder - Joining the Seasiders from the SIL in 2015/16 with Manager Watty, ‘Jamma’ soon established himself as a first team regular becoming an integral part of the squad. Technically a very talented footballer, comfortable on the ball who just needs to add goals to his game now.

ARMANI SCHAARArmani played for Felixstowe & Walton back in 2016 before moving on to Leiston Town and then Lowestoft where he helped that club fly away from relegation in the 2018/19 season. Armani has also had spells at Needham Market and brings with him plenty of experience playing at step 3 level.

JOE BLOOMFIELDCentral Midfielder - Joe re-joined the club this season and is Felixstowe born and bred. During his time at youth level with Ipswich Town he played alongside now England goalkeeper Nick Pope. Joe is a versatile player with a great engine and competitive streak.

RORY PORTERAttacking Midfielder - Rory is a Felixstowe Lad who has established himself in the first team squad this season. With a great centre of gravity Rory is an exciting young talent to watch when on the ball. And the club have great hopes for his future progression.

OLLIE DUNLOPPreviously at AFC Sudbury with Danny Bloomfield, and Bury Town, Ollie has a bright future ahead of him looking at the number 10 shirt.

(GK) DANNY CRUMPPrevious Clubs played for? - Felixstowe and Walton, Hadliegh UTD, Felixstowe Harpers, Grundisburgh, Achilles Team you support? - Liverpool/ITFC Best player played with? - Jim Magilton, Brother AC, Rhys Barber and Denz (cb partnership )

Best player played against? Difficult one. I wouldn’t say there was one person who stands out in local football. I would say Ollie Mann and Blakey from Norwich UTD (now Leiston) were always tough to play against and knew you would be busy!

Best moment in football? Winning Senior cup with brother last year at Portman road and promotion with Felixstowe
