Commerce Extensible Markup Language cXML
Commerce XML (cXML) is an open Internet-based standard for e-commerce. cXML provides an infrastructure that will streamline the process of digitally exchanging catalog content and transactions in a secure manner.
cXML supports all supplier content and catalog models, including buyer-managed, supplier-managed, content management services, electronic marketplaces, and web-based sourcing organizations.
cXML is based on the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C's) XML standard with its associated request/response processes.

Electronic Business XMLebXML
The United Nations body for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT) and the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS) have joined forces to initiate a worldwide project to standardize XML business specifications.
UN/CEFACT and OASIS have established the Electronic Business XML initiative to develop a technical framework that will enable XML to be utilized in a consistent manner for the exchange of all electronic business data.
A primary objective of ebXML is to lower the barrier of entry to electronic business in order to facilitate trade, particularly with respect to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and developing nations.

Rosettanet
RosettaNet is building a master dictionary to define properties for products, partners, and business transactions for the Electronic Components (EC) and Information Technology (IT) industries.
This master dictionary, coupled with an established implementation framework (exchange protocols), is used to support the eBusiness dialog known as the Partner Interface Process or PIP.
RosettaNet PIPs create new areas of alignment within the overall EC and IT supply-chains, allowing EC and IT partners to scale eBusiness, and to fully leverage Ecom applications and the Internet as a business-to-business commerce tool.

Universal Business LanguageUBL
Avert a crisis in electronic business caused by competing XML business-to-business document standards.
Create a new "Universal Business Language" that will be a synthesis of existing XML business document libraries.
Begin with xCBL 3.0 as the starting point.
Develop the standard UBL library by mutually agreed-upon changes to xCBL 3.0 based on industry experience with other XML business libraries and with similar technologies such as Electronic Data Interchange.
Universal Business Language, backed by technology vendors SAP AG, Sun Microsystems Inc. and Commerce One Inc.
