FINANCE FOR NON-FINANCIAL MANAGERS Value Proposition We have designed our Finance for Non-Financial Managers programme to demystify financial jargon and provide the knowledge that will enable delegates to participate in financial discussions with their executive team and play an active role in the achievement of their organisation’s financial objectives. The preparation, analysis and interpretation of financial statements are just some of the basic aspects covered in the classroom. The integration of investing, operating and financing decisions is stressed using the case study approach. Study groups and interactive presentations simulate the business environment and make for a memorable programme. Target Audience Marketing, personnel or other technical executives, who are required to take divisional financial decisions; professionals who need a knowledge of financial terminology and financial analysis; and other executives seeking exposure to the issues of financial analysis and decision-making. The programme is not designed for senior financial or accounting personnel. Programme Duration and Structure The programme runs over four consecutive days. Programme Level This programme is presented at the equivalent of NQF level 7. Programme Certification This programme is offered at an attendance programme. A certificate of attendance is awarded on successful completion of the programme. Learning Outcomes• Analyse financial statements and assess financial

risk• Identify specific actions needed to improve returns• Recognise the impact of different methods of

costing• Discuss financial matters effectively with financial

specialists

Lead Academic:Dr Thabang Mokoaleli-Mokoteli

Thabang is currently a senior lecturer in finance and accounting at Wits Business School. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting) from the National University of Lesotho (Lesotho), her Master’s Degree in Accountancy from Western Illinois University (USA) and her PhD in Finance from Cranfield University (UK).
