Is Your Child’s School Good —and Getting Better?

The University of Chicago Urban Education Institute has developed a measurement tool that is used by school districts throughout the country, including the Chicago Public Schools, to reliably predict and guide schools’ improvement. It’s called The 5Essentials:

What are the strengths of your child’s school? Twenty years of UEI research have demonstrated that schools strong on at least three of the 5Essentials are literally ten times more likely to make substantial improvement in student learning than schools that are weak on three of the 5Essentials. Do you know your child’s school’s strengths? Find out more at: www.uei.uchicago.edu.
