If there is one word used to describe

Chey Castro, it is hard-working. Add to

that descriptor, trustworthy, reliable,

ethical, and positive, and you have the

characteristics most people are looking for in

a Realtor. Or for that matter a

days as a college student, the

young Phoenix native has

intern while pursuing his undergraduate

degree in Finance at ASU. (He graduated

experience, Castro enrolled

in the Masters program at the

University of Notre Dame,

graduated and joined a Big 4

accounting firm where he

once again had the chance to

prove his mettle.

“There I learned to work

even harder, meet stringent

deadlines and burrow into

the important detail,” explained Castro.

In time, he took his newly enhanced

experience and knowledge back to DMB

where he served as a Senior Financial

Analyst. With a keen understanding of the

business in Real Estate Development, he

surprised many when he made the bold

decision, particularly given the rocky economic

landscape, to trade a steady corporate job for

the sales side of the business.

“I had to restart my career at the bottom

as a Sales Assistant at the Silverleaf Sales

Center and plenty of people thought I was

crazy,” laughs Castro. “But I figure I got an

MBA in sales by learning how to survive

when the chips were down from the

determined pros in a top luxury sales office.”

Today, as a successful Sales Associate

with Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty,

Castro is able to put his hard-earned

knowledge to work for the most discriminating

of luxury buyers and sellers in a complex

marketplace.

my accounting and finance background as well

as what I understand after studying the market

DESERT HIGHLANDScasual barbecue at the tennis center while our daughter takes a lesson. All of the facilities are kept in pristine condition and the professional staff always greets you with a smile and knows your name.

There is also a strong willingness to change with the times. Last October a major renovation of the clubhouse was completed to address the desire of residents for a more casual, indoor-outdoor setting. Even though the golf facilities are regularly improved and enhanced, the renovated clubhouse is really a game changer that in our eyes has elevated Desert Highlands even higher.

Because the community is set at the base of Pinnacle Peak, the views we get to see every day are amazing. Because Desert Highlands is a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of the city we enjoy the peace and quiet, but we’re still very close to the best shopping and dining options, and the 101 is nearby if we want to go downtown for sporting events.
