During this daytime excursion, you’ll have the opportunity to take a finclip from a 10+ foot tiger shark to test for toxins, conduct physiological tests to determine a great hammerhead shark’s stress level, or insert an ID tag into a shark to learn more about its life movements and growth rate.

Initiated for it's invaluable data in tracking marine life and helping these creatures of the deep live safely alongside humans (and vice versa), shark tagging has turned up interesting results in predicting hurricanes, understanding global warming and much more.

This 10-mile bicycle jaunt explores the charming island of Key Biscayne - so hospitable that it was sought out by the Tequesta Indians that first inhabited South Florida. Guests will visit Miami’s oldest structure, a remote lighthouse built to stop a run of ancient shipwrecks, hear stories of Indian civilizations, and see the effects of past hurricanes.

Pedaling through lush flora, our guide will explain how hurricane Andrew’s path changed the island’s ecosystem. Take in Stiltsville, an offshore village of homes built on “stilts” and breathtaking views of broad, white sandy beaches.

After passing through the Village of Key Biscayne you’ll explore the unusual oddity of an antiquated and abandoned zoo that echoes of visitations past. Watch out for the new tenants: a large variety of waterfowl and iguanas in every imaginable size and color combination. Enjoy the pleasures of a slower pace almost as if it were ripped from the pages of a less hectic era.

Miami is home to some of the world’s most pristine waters and luxurious sailing vessels. Today, guests will experience both through a high-energy competition during a half-day sailing regatta.

Arriving dockside, groups of six will be paired with their own sailing vessel and captain. After a short dockside briefing, its off to the races. A 30-minute leisurely sail will allow teams to become acquainted with the vessel and choose their racing station.

As captains and crew maneuver near the starting line, the race horn sounds to begin an enthralling competition marked with laughs & thrills atop the blue waters of the Atlantic Coast.

Following the race around a professional course, ample time will be provided to sit back, relax, and enjoy the spoils of victory.

An adventure as fun as it is fascinating, you’ll join the trainers of Miami Seaquarium’s multi-faceted W.A.D.E. (Water and Dolphin Exploration) Program. Your day begins with a Q&A session then you’ll head straight into Flipper Lagoon to suit up and prepare for your dolphin interaction. While spending time with the famous marine mammals, you’ll have the opportunity to feed, touch and assist in training.

Following the Dolphin Experience, take some time to explore the rest of the aquarium, which includes 26 tropical aquariums and a host of live presentations including Killer Whales, Sea Lions & a Dolphin show. Situated atop the Miami Culinary Institute and adjacent to the wildly popular restaurant TuYo, guests enjoy a highly interactive experience in a state-of-the-art environment designed to host teams of tomorrow’s top chefs.

CRANDON PARK GOLF

The sculpted fairways of Crandon Golf Key Biscayne meander along the sea throughout a pristine, 250-acre tropical paradise lined with coconut palms, red and white mangroves and seven saltwater lakes. On one side of the island is the Atlantic Ocean, on the other is Biscayne Bay, and the only connection between you and Miami’s sizzle is a 10-minute drive over the Rickenbacker Causeway. It is, according to official statements, where players can experience nature on the only subtropical lagoon in North America.

Subtle but enticing, Crandon is a well-planned challenge built in 1972 by Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin. In 1993, a redesign by von Hagge brought new greens and bunker configurations. Home to the Senior PGA Tour since 1987, the course is considered one of the most beautiful and difficult par-72 courses in the state and has been rated in the top ten courses by Golfweek and one of America’s top 75 upscale courses by Golf Digest.
