It was neglected. The brush had grown up around it. Almost everyone had gone as far as the cross, but there they stopped. GO BEYOND THE CROSS

Every year, thousands of people climb a mountain in the Italian Alps, passing the "stations of the cross" to stand at an outdoor crucifix. One tourist noticed a little trail that led beyond the cross. He fought through the

rough thicket and, to his surprise, came upon another shrine, a shrine that symbolized the empty tomb. It was neglected. The brush had grown up around it. Almost everyone had gone as far as the cross, but there they stopped.

BACKPACKS OF BLESSING PRAISE THE LORD! Our first backpacks filled with food went to Mill Creek West to help any child out who needs a little help getting through the weekend.

A lot of prayer, thought, research and conversation has taken place to acquire

a list of needs for the Backpack Ministry. Please adhere to the list very closely. There are food allergies to take into consider-ation. For example, food items should NOT contain pea-nuts. We are also making sure that items DO NOT need refrig-eration for a number or reasons. Some children may be sensi-tive to sugar intake and should have as little sugar as possible. For your convenience, beside each item listed I have provided for you the places that I found the items at the lower cost.

Fresh fruit is purchased on Thursday evening or Friday morning to assure the freshness of the products giv-en to the children. Financial contributions are welcome as well to purchase fresh fruit. We are in need of large totes to store the food in as well.

THANK YOU so much for your love and care for the children at Mill Creek West who need a little love, encourage-ment and nutrition. Please pray over the items you donate and for the families that will receive them.

In His service and yours, Pastor Shelly

OUR CHURCH FAMILY NEWS (Continued)

MISSIONS (Continued)

We will be taking the America for Christ Offering for 2015 during this month of April. As we journey through our commu-nity we see countless people in need of Jesus' love and healing touch. You may be wondering what difference can I make in addressing so many needs. Together we can make a difference by supporting American For Christ Offering.

The theme this year is "Discipleship: A Journey of Grace," based on Titus 2:11-13. This is a wonderful reminder that Jesus'

public ministry was all about connecting and caring for people in need. On each day of his journey, the compassion of Jesus was felt by someone somewhere. The America for Christ Offering 2015 re-minds us that when grace happens we receive not a nice comple-ment from God but a new heart. We receive a transformed life that becomes the hands, the feet and the prophetic voice of Jesus Christ in our own community and as we connect with people every day. We are encouraged by this year’s theme to come alongside people as they journey through life. You are asked to join in giving to this year's America for Christ Offering 2015 and helping us to reach our goal in support of a home mission that is making a real difference. John Porter, Mission Offering Coordinator
