HOLD THE DATE! It’s almost time, It’s going to be great!

VBS is coming, I can’t wait!

More information will be coming, So just you wait! We will wear red and

white stripes And have green on our plate!

Vacation Bible School will be held on the evening of August 16 and the morning of

August 17 jointly with Faith UCC and FCC Dav.

We will join together our churches to celebrate VBS with a joint led worship in

    Junge Park on August 18.

Greetings in the Name of Christ! What a great month that is coming up in July! I am heading off to direct my 4th year of Beginner Camp. And on July 20th, the girls and I, Deb Mann, Leann Maas, and Jim & Sharon Perreault are heading off to our General Assembly to represent our church. In just a few short weeks, Disciples from all around the world will gather in Des Moines for a week of worship, study, fellowship, and dis-cussion centered on the theme, “Abide!” It’s an exciting time to be part of a church that en-joys being together, worshiping together, and working together to make the world a better place by sharing the love of Christ. As I am away at camp and General Assem-bly, most of you will remain here in the Quad Cit-ies. But know that you go with me — as my sup-port, prayer encouragement, and as Fruit of the Spirit. The Scripture theme for General Assembly is John 15:1-5 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit. You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you un-less you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.” – cont’d —->

While I am away — we still abide within each other — for the whole purpose of nurturing and supporting one another and for spreading the Good News of Christ. Please pray for our kids, our GA attendees, and for your pastor. Pray for our church and our denominational church that is gathering. Bear much fruit and I will be home soon to share my new fruit!

We need your Help! Please Volunteer! Greeters and Worship Leaders along

with our Linger Longer Fellow-ship Hour Host/Hostess are needed. Sign up on the clip-boards at the Greeters Desk.

At our last Elder meeting, we discussed how more members might be able to help care for each other in our church. Some of the initial focuses will be: Transportation: Providing rides to and from Church services and events Providing rides to Dr. appointments Support and Assistance during: Surgery, Illness, & Crisis Visiting our Circle of Concern members in

their homes or at the nursing home. If there is anyone that would like to help in any of these areas, or if you have other ideas on how the needs of the church family can be met, please reach out to Rev. Linda or Janet Holmes.

was decided that a better use of funds could be used to share a devotion on our website. Please go to our church website or pick up a Secret Place Devotion Book in the hallway at church.

This is a very powerful visual Memorial to our Community Members who have died due to violence. This started May 17th with the installation of the memorial to at First Presbyterian Church, with each week moving to a new Hilltop church. On July 5th, the Memorial will be moving from Sacred Heart Church to our church at 5 p.m. Than on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. there will be a short memorial service.
