DirectionsOn entering Elie continue to where the main road turns sharp left and turn right into Bank Street. Continue on this road into Links Place, Liberty and then Earlsferry High Street. Continue along the one-way street and follow the road to the right until alongside the golf course. The access to Cathay Upper is on the right with the red door.

DescriptionCathay Upper has fantastic views overlooking Elie Golf Course to the north and towards the Firth of Forth to the south. The accommodation comprises three bedrooms, a living room with fantastic views through a bay window over the golf course and towards the Firth of Forth. The kitchen enjoys south facing views over the garden and towards the Firth of Forth and the Bass Rock. It has a range of fi tted wall and fl oor units with an integrated sink, and integrated white goods which include a washing machine and a dishwasher, as well as an oven with four hobs above. There is also a family bathroom and the adjacent WC. Outside there is a south facing garden which is walled on three aspects, a coal store and a garden store.

The golf club house, the Pavilion Tea Room, the putting green, the driving range and the tennis courts are all close at hand. Elie Beach is also nearby and has a long, deep, sandy beach and is one of the fi nest in Scotland. It stretches all the way round the bay from Earlsferry to Elie Harbour. The harbour serves as a centre for a sailing club and various water sport activities. Elie is Scotland’s most popular seaside village, with many professional families from London, Edinburgh and Glasgow enjoying holiday homes there. The Ship Inn overlooking the harbour is a well known pub and the nearby Peat Inn is one of Scotland’s best restaurants. Earlsferry and Elie are on the East Neuk of Fife which boasts fi shing villages built around picturesque harbours and sandy unspoilt beaches. St Andrews, “the home of golf”, is only 14 miles away; its university is one of the oldest in Britain. There is good private and state schooling in St Andrews, and Dundee and Kirkcaldy are both within easy reach. There are many golf courses in the area, including courses at Kingsbarns and St Andrews Bay and traditional links courses at Crail, Leven and Lundin Links.
