nature’s furY ChaLLenge

In the 2013 NATURE’S FURY Challenge, over 200,000 children from over 70 countries have explored the awe-inspiring storms, quakes, waves and more that we call natural disasters. Teams have discovered what can be done when intense natural events meet the places people live, work, and play. In OEC 2014 95 teams that qualified in their national tournaments will share their inno-vative solutions in their projects, their robot designs and core values, apart from solving the robot game missions.

Scientific project10min. Teams present their project before a team of judges. Projects consist of 3 parts: 1) Identifying a real life problem; 2) Creating an innovative solution; 3) Sharing it with others.

Robot design10min. Teams present a robot design to judges who will assess design and engineering, as well as strategy and programming.

Core values10min. Teams will show by means of a poster, how they have embraced core values in their project. They will be asked to carry out some teamwork activity to show how they work as a team.

Robot game2.30min. The robot must get the maximum score at the missions. There are 3 rounds for each team, where the Robot Performance Award is decided. This year the robot has to protect, reconstruct and give solutions to damage and consequences of natural disasters.
