EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION IN A CHRIST-CENTRED LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
GAUSS MATH CONTEST On Wednesday, May 10th, 27 FLCA students took part in the
University of Waterloo Gauss Math Competition. The students who
obtained Outstanding Achievement for Highest Score were
Kelly Owenya in the Grade 8 test and Andreas Boscariol in the
Grade 7 test.
We are proud of the efforts of all of the participants. Well
done!

NO RUNNING CLUB THIS WEEK As Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Keech are at Camp
Celtic this week, there will be no Running
Club, tomorrow, Wed. May 17th. Running Club
will resume next Wednesday, May 24th, from
3:45 – 4:30 p.m.
VICTORIA DAY There is no school on Monday,

CARNIVAL VOLUNTEERS The time has come to plan for the
end of the year Carnival. We are
looking for parent volunteers who
would be willing to help prepare for
the event. Some ways you might help
are:
Shopping for food and supplies
Planning new events / activities
Set-up on Carnival day
Supervising events / activities on Carnival day
Building event apparatus
If you are interested in helping, please attend the Carnival
Information Night on Wed. May 24th, at 6:00 p.m.
(approx. 1 hour in length). If you are unable to attend but
still wish to help, please speak with Mrs. Laszewski. We
look forward to seeing you there.

SPRING CONCERT You are cordially invited to attend the FLCA Spring Concert on Thursday, May
25th, at one o’clock in the afternoon. Please come and hear our students sing
and the bands play … all students in PK through Grade 8 are participating.
Due to the Spring Concert, there will be no Hot Lunch on Thursday,
May 25th. Students will be eating lunch in their classrooms and should bring a
lunch and a drink from home on that day.

Note to PK/JK/SK Parents: Morning-only students are
welcome to remain through the lunch hour on Thursday, or
they may leave for lunch and return to school at 12:30pm in
time to prepare for the concert. The concert is expected to
last approximately 45 minutes.
