    We have started Unit 3! We are working on

    finding all the combinations to make a given

    number and continue working on solving story

    problems. We will be introducing a school wide

    acronym to help our students solve story

    problems more effectively.

    Field Trip to The Recycling

    Center

    REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE

    We are beginning a new unit

    that focuses on recycling and the

    importance of taking care of our

    Earth. During this unit, we will be

    taking a field trip to the Recycling

    Center and doing a variety of

    community projects. We are in need

    of recycled materials from your home

    to help us with our learning. Please

    send these items in with your child.

    If you have any community

    connections around our Recycling

    topic, please contact us. We are

    looking for guest speakers and

    experts in this area to assist us with

    our learning. Thanks for your help!

    FIRST GRADE FIELD TRIP

    On Tuesday, January 24th, the

    1st grade classess will be taking a Field

    Trip to the Recycling Center in Ft.

    Collins(just up the road from

    Ponderosa) Parents are encouraged tojoin us, but due to limited space on

    the bus, we are needing all parent

    volunteers to drive themselves to the

    Recycling Center! This field trip my

    include lots of walking, so be sure to

    wear appropriate shoes!

    HEALTH AND WELLNESS

    Just another reminder about

    our policy around healthy treats and

    snacks in the classroom. You have

    been awesome in supporting this by

    sending in healthy snacks daily with

    your child. Please continue to do so as

    we are working hard to promote

    healthy snack choices. We also would

    like to thank you for the birthday

    treat choices that have been sent in.

    We have seen many creative ways to

    celebrate birthdays other than

    SWEET TREATS and appreciate it

    so much! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

    Come join us on Tuesday,

    January 17th from 6-8pm for some

    hands on learning opportunities around

    literacy and math at our Literacy

    Night! We will also have a special
