    From Gods Matchless Word

28Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

    Isaiah 40:28-31New International Version

i|| VxWelcome to all who come here to worship our LORD. Another

voice in praise of Him is a wonderful blessing. We are so glad you

have come. To show our appreciation we would like you to stop by

our visitor center, located in the narthex, where you will find gift

    bags. Please take one.

Please introduce yourself to Pastor Zimmermann and perhaps to others you may

notice just hanging around after the worship service has concluded. We sometimes get

so caught up in our excitement at seeing friends for the first time in the past week that

we forget to lookout for YOU! Thank you for joining us today, and please, thank our

LORD for his free gift of grace.

For The Church, Our Nation and the Worldpray without ceasing 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Pray for the people of Chili who were hit by the strongest earthquake in a century at 8.8 with manyaftershocks. The death toll is still rising and help is greatly needed for the survivors. Pray how we asChristians, can help here also. We praise God that Hawaii was spared the destruction of the expectedtsunami, but pray for those who had no warning on other island coastal areas that suffered greatly ordied.

Continue to pray for the Haiti earthquake survivors and the many Godly ministries working to ministerto body and spirit during the long recovery. This will be ongoing for years to come. Pray how you canhelp. Check websites like Compassion International for reliable faith organizations with years andyears of longevity in that country for the best ways to help.

Pray for our nation & our leaders on every level that Godly decisions would be made on our behalf.Pray for the increasing number of victims of crime, shootings and kidnappings. So many need the saving

love and peace of Jesus Christ. Pray, too, for peace for those in our church family who have recently lostloved ones. Pray how you can reach out to those in need of love and care.

Pray for the ministries of First Lutheran. May they each be used mightily by the Lord to minister topeople in our area and beyond, and to give Him all the glory. Pray for our mission outreach program toGuatemala and those who are planning to go; for our local evangelical programs; and for our StephenMinistry caregivers and those who are in their care.

Pray forour childrens ministry programs; that our children will come to know & love the Lord.Always remember our men & women currently serving in the military who each need our fervent

prayers for protection and health. Remember to pray for the persecuted church worldwide, especially innocent children.. They suffer greatly and well beyond our imagination. Always bethankful to God for your freedoms and dont take them for granted.

    Needed!

    Guatemala School Supplies

We will be collecting school supplies for the children in Guatemala (April 17-25). Our goal is to leave at least 1 suitcase in Guatemala full of school supplies forGroundwork Guatemala. We really would appreciate your help.

Donations can be left at the church or school office or in the narthex. Dennis Millerwill pick them up every week after second service.

We will be needing both childrens school and medical supplies for our mission trip.

For example: Childrens backpacks & childrens scissors, packs of 8 bold, wide-tipwashable markers; bottles of white glue & glue sticks; spiral notebooks; washablewatercolors; rulers, lined and grid paper; ink pens; construction paper; #2 pencils, etc. Medicalsupplies would be gallon, quart, snack and 2.5 gallon sized Ziploc bags, popsicle sticks,Kleenex, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, specific childrens vitamins, general adult vitamins, prenatal vitamins, bar soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc. The printout sheet and the web sitewill be much more in detail. A complete list of supplies needed are on an 8 x 11 sheet in theNarthex Kiosk. Thank you for helping the people of Guatemala!

2781 Gulf to Bay BoulevardClearwater, FL 33759-3904(727) 797-7303

The Clearwater Cokesbury store will be closing its doors on April 10th. That is the lastmajor store in Florida except for a small store in Leesburg. It is sad to see Christian supply storesclosing due to our economy and Cokesbury has been in existence for 200 years! There is something

you can do, though. If you think it is wrong that this store closes and that it should remain open, pleaseemail or write the following people. Maybe if we speak up, we can make a difference for theKingdom. Christians need to do everything in our power to stand up for sharing our faith freely

and having access to materials of our faith. If we dont say anything, they may think that we dontcare.

Jeff Barnes, Executive Director of Sales,[email protected] Kowalski, Senior VP Marketing & Sales, [email protected] Alexander, President & Publisher, [email protected]

Now would be the time to get Bibles, books, and teaching supplies from this

supplier. Sales will be 35% off March 1-13, 55% off March 15-27, and 75% off March 29-April 10

School News - By Principal, Elaine PoppMission Statement:

First Lutheran School exists to proclaim the Gospel as we teach academic skills and Christian values, establishing a strong foundation for a child to live a successful, positive, and Christ-centered life.

On Friday, the 3rd 5th graders had a very special visitor. Brad Kendall is an alumnus ofFirst Lutheran who has been sailing since he was a toddler. In August 2003, Brad, his father and

best friend were involved in a plane crash near the Clearwater Airport. Brad was the only survivorand lost both of his legs as a result of the accident. He has persevered in his recovery and made thedecision not to let his physical handicap prevent him from doing anything he wanted to pursue. One

of the activities he wanted to return to was sailing and today, Brad is a member of the U.S.Paralympics Sailing Team. He competes all over the world forthe US and hopes to represent our country in the Paralympics inLondon in 2012. Since the 3rd-5th graders had been learningabout the Olympics Brad came to share with them hisexperience as a paralympic athlete. On a side note, Brad ishappily married. He and his wife, Melissa, are expecting theirfirst child in June!

This next week is National Lutheran Schools Week! Stay tunedfor news about the fun things we will be doing all next week.

This week, many of our 8th graders were accepted into magnethigh schools around the county. Mark K., Andrew P., and SeanF. were accepted into the First Responders program at Pinellas

Park; Ramon P. into criminal justice at Pinellas Park, Daniel P.and Erik H. - CAICC at Clearwater and Mackenzie B., into theveterinary program at Tarpon Springs. Several of our other 8thgraders are still anxiously waiting to hear. We can be very proudof how well prepared our 8th graders are and how well theyrepresent FLS when they graduate and go on to high school.

    Congratulations students!
