― Fitchain is originally designed as an employee benefits program stimulating healthy behavior
― The essence of Fitchain is that an employee’s Fitbit activity tracker is linked to an incentive scheme on a blockchain
― Based on data from the Fitbit a digital coin is awarded for every 5,000 steps walked
― The employee can exchange the digital coins for rewards in the market place
― Alternatively Fitchain could also be used by insurance companies to reward healthy behavior of their clients or communities to reward healthy behavior of their members

KPMG’s Fitchain experience
“Fitchain was a great motivator to be more active. I found myself much more energised and walking absolutely
everywhere! Having a set goal to work towards and that sense of accomplishment,

Our blockchain solutionThe benefits― Fitchain enables a system with adequate privacy safeguards, while still being
able to reward employees for healthy behavior
― Blockchain technology enables linking a smart sensor directly to a blockchainwallet
― Blockchain offers a single platform on which multiple parties could be enrolled
― External suppliers can connect to the market place to offer rewards
Fitchain’s blockchain solution― Fitchain uses the Fitbit API to
retrieve activity data (e.g. number of steps)
― Fitchain identifies the user via the hashed value of the users Fitbit ID
― Once the user opens the Fitchainapp, the above steps take place automatically
― Subsequently Fitchain translates the activity into digital coins
― The digital coins are added to the users balance on the blockchain
― Fitchain runs on an OpenChainblockchain
― Upon redemption scanning the QR code triggers lowering the user’s balance on the blockchain
