    Instructions for Replacementof Brake Rotors

    1. The corrosion protective filmon non-grooved EBC rotorsmust be removed carefullyfrom new rotors with asuitable contact cleaner (methsor white spirit) to avoidcontaminating pads.

    2. Important: The wheelmounting flange must becleaned before fitting the

brake rotors. Rust or scale willcause runout & brake judder.

    3. Check: After having fitted thebrake rotor a dial indicatorwith a magnetic base ideallyshould be placed on thevehicle. The brake rotor shouldbe rotated and tested for axialrunout. If runout exceeds 0,15-0,20mm the rotor must bedismounted and rotated one

bolt hole. Repeat the test. Ifrunout still excessive, removerotor, check for debris/damage& repeat procedure.

    4. Always fit new rotor brakepads and allow 300 milesurban driving for padsand rotors to bed in.

    5. Check that caliper pistons slidefreely and are not seized, binding calipers will cause

uneven braking or judder.6. EBC Grooved rotors are coated

with gold or black zinc finishwhich will wear off during thefirst 100 miles of braking. Donot attempt to remove thiscoating on installation.

WARNING: Always replace therotors in pairs. The wheel bolts must be

tightened diagonally by means ofa torque wrench.Replacement of brake rotorsshould always be performed by amechanic according to the carmanufacturers instructions.

DRIVER SAFETY WARNINGBrakes are a safety critical part of your vehicle and should be installedby a competent mechanic following vehicle manufacturers installationprocedure. The surface of these brake pads is coated with a redcoating known as BRAKE-INTM. This coating helps your newly installedbrake pads to seat or bed in quickly. However, pads should be usedgently for the first 100 miles until optimum braking is observed.

INSPECT BRAKE PADS FOR WEAR every 3000 miles as varying load anduse conditions can greatly influence pad wear rate. Badly worn ortotally worn brake pads can cause partial or total loss of brake andmay result in an accident. This product may last longer than or evenLESS MILES THAN other types of brake pad when used in the sameconditions.

Some Asian fitment brake pads are fitted with audible wear indicatordevices called screech clips. These are a U shaped clip rivetted to theleft or right side of the brake pad backing plate. Screech clips aredesigned to contact the rotor when pad is worn dangerously low andemit a screeching sound. When the noise is observed pads must bechanged immediately to avoid loss of brake efficiency.

NOTES FOR INSTALLING MECHANICMost EBC pads are now fitted with noise reduction shims on thereverse side of the pad and also now have edge chamfers to reducelow speed brake noise. Depending on rotor condition some minornoises can occur during early pad life and are not a reason forwarranty. Please recommend to customers that they allow their brakesto run for at least 500 miles before claiming warranty under noise. TheBRAKE-IN coating on the pad surface is a major aid in helping pads toseat quickly and should not be removed or sanded. Avoidcontamination of pad surface with any forms of grease that you mayuse to lubricate caliper sliders.
