Mission Statement :

To serve an ethnically diverse student body, composed primarily of Hispanic students, by graduating broadly educated critical thinkers who understand, decipher, and interpret global and multicultural communication issues in order to make a positive impact in our community as well as throughout the Americas.

Vision Statement :

To position the SJMC as one of the most respected graduate and undergraduate communications program in the country, with a special focus on multicultural communications issues, and as the nation’s number one Hispanic-serving communications program.

What Does Global Strategic Communications

Mean?

• Global strategic communications is a real life concept where organization’s must use different tools and methods for communicating with its culturally diverse audiences, all the while maintaining a consistent message and strategy.

“The GSC curriculum will include instruction in traditional as well as new media communications with a new course in Global Communications. . . In addition elements of strategic decision making will be added to the remaining courses.”

Global Strategic Communications

FIU ‘s advertising , public relations masters program is the largest of its kind in Florida.

The new Global Strategic Communications (GSC) master’s degree is the only one of its kind fully accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC).

Global Strategic Communications

The Global Strategic Communications (GSC) master's program offers two tracks:

1.Global Strategic Communications Track2.Global Strategic Communications Creative Track

Both programs give students a general background in strategic communications to help them prepare for advancement in advertising, public relations, and integrated communications careers while providing knowledge and understanding for addressing global, national, and local audiences and communication issues. Its curriculum reflects the evolving global climate, with international and global elements in branding, copywriting, social media, management, crisis, among others. Most students complete the program in 18 to 24 months.
