    Operation Kid Comfort

ASYMCA Project Strong Communities is offering FREE quilts to children ofdeployed soldiers through our Operation Kid Comfort Program here at the

Fairgrounds YMCA! [Please note-- if the families have moved back homeduring the deployments, we will mail the quilts to them as well].

Operation Kid Comfort addresses the emotional stress that children sufferduring a parents absence from home due to a routine or extended deploy-ment. We offer photo transfer quilts that bear the images of the deployedfamily member, alone and/or interacting with the family, are made for eachchild in order to help comfort them. These quilts are durable, washable andmeant for the child to cuddle with, play with and sleep with. We offer lap

quilts free to children of deployed Soldiers.

Each quilt uses up to 9 photos which can be emailed or disk (preferrred) orsnail mailed for scanning. Minimum usable size is 3x5 though 4x6 and lar-ger are optimal as we resize to 4x4. I have found that the more photos oneuses the better. Attached please find the application that you can print outand give to the military families. You can visit our website atwww.watertownymca.org also.

Please have the families email their applications and photos to [email protected] . Or, they may dropthem off to our YMCA Fairgrounds site off of Coffeen Street in Watertown.
