In conjunction with their knowledge of the manufacture and installation of flexible products, Flexlife is able
to provide guidance and support during the life of field operation of flexible products and can execute the
following on behalf of operators:
• Prepare flexible pipe Integrity Management Strategies (IMS) and emergency preparedness
strategies;
• Undertake riser and umbilical operational risk assessments and FMEAs;
• Advise on critical spares and assist in their procurement, storage maintenance and upkeep;
• Develop intervention strategies and procedures;
• Implement inspection, maintenance and repair solutions;
• Plan and advise on flexible product inspection campaigns as part of annual subsea plans or
unplanned interventions;
• Deploy inspection services to determine the condition and integrity of a flexible pipe via its annulus;
• Deploy repair, protection and monitoring products for flexible pipe systems;

Annulus Testing
8
• Primary reason - in order to assure annulus integrity
• Specifically in the critical splash zone region
• Vacuum testing does not to this • Secondary benefits
• Derive approximate annulus volume • Regular vent system intervention
reduced the likelihood of vent system blockage

REPAIR FlexGel - Corrosion Mitigation
12
• Displacement of Seawater • Replacing seawater with non corrosive gel
• FlexGel • Developed to prevent corrosion of risers in I tubes and
Caissons • Immiscible in water • Non flammable • Density is ‘tuned’ to prevent oxygen reaching breach
site(s) • Contains biocide to also arrest Microbial Induced
Corrosion MIC • Arrests all corrosion • Approved by OCNS

• Camera and hose tethered as FlexGel pumping takes place
• FlexGel displaces water line within I-tube • Moves within I-tube according to tidal range • Unaffected by short period wave action • Prevents further corrosion of damaged pipe • Schedule inspection regime to ensure Gel remains
intact
