FlipSnack is an online flipping book software that allows you to convert JPG, JPEG and PDF documents into beautiful flipping books. The FlipSnack Pro membership (license) is a premium plan meant to be used in advertising and marketing or any other business related purposes, if you want to distribute your publication on the web in an engaging way for your readers.

It's the ideal solution for those who wish to embed a book, magazine, catalog, newspaper, portfolio or any other kind of document into a website or blog.

1. Add documents The first step (Add documents) requires some basic information about your new presentation.

Upload PDF Title and description will help your readers quickly understand what your presentation is about. If you find it easier, you can start by uploading the PDF first, and let the title and description fields auto-complete by drawing information from your file. Don’t forget to double check the text for mistakes.

Documents can be added from two sources:

− My Computer

− URL

Both will grab your document and convert it into an interactive presentation.

Upload PDF and images

There are 3 things you should know when uploading PDFs and images:

• If you first upload an image or a series of images and then a PDF, FlipSnack will automatically merge the images with the PDF.

• If you first upload a PDF and then images, you will have a collection of images and PDFs separately. They will not merge automatically. You will have to check the box for the “Merge all files to one” option.

• You can rearrange the order of uploaded files with drag & drop.

You can create a whole presentation with just pictures, but most people are using the upload images feature to customize the front and back cover.

2. Customize

A. Choose templates

First, choose a template. There are 5 templates you can use for a beautiful and interactive presentation.

• Classic Flip is the most popular template we have. It's perfect for all types of flip presentations.

• Hardcover Flip works great for professional e-books. You have 4 special hardcover options: leather, solid color, file's first page or you an image you upload.

• Coil Flip template is perfect for homework and class presentations. It gives flipbooks a vintage feel, so you can use it if you're out of school but missing it.

• Interactive Flip is a new and improved Classic Flip, with social interaction buttons when the flipbook is in full screen. If you'd like feedback or interaction on your flipbook, use this template.

• Simple Flip template displays the flipbook and nothing more: no thumbnails, no social media buttons or any distractions.

B. Preview

When you're customizing the flipping book, you will probably want to see what your settings and all the changes look like on your flipbook. That's why we show you a preview, right under the templates.

There are 2 types of previews, and you can check them both:

• If you plan to embed it on your website as a widget, look at the Widget preview. You will see exactly how people are going to see it as they visit your page.

• If you’re planning to present your flipbook in front of an audience or if you want to see what it looks like in full screen, then check out the Full screen preview.

C. Settings

There are 6 sections in the settings area. All templates have the same settings, except for the Hardcover Flip (special settings) and the Simple Flip template (less options).

I. Widget type

Shelf widget is best suited for collections of flipping books that are focused on similar topics. It's also great for collections of class projects and assignments.

Classic widget shows only one flipbook at a time. To see other flipping books from the same collection, readers will have to click “next”.

II. Sizes

You can adjust your widget's size to fit perfectly on your blog post or website. Choose a preset: medium or large, or set a custom width and height.

The size options are the same for classic widgets and shelf widgets.

III. Cover options

Except for the Hardcover template, which is slightly different, the rest of the templates will appear with these options:

If you “Use first page as hardcover” the first page of your book will automatically look like the hard cover of an ebook.

If you decide to use a different cover page, you can just check the “Upload image” option and then select an image from your local files. Also, you can choose to use or not use the hardcover effect for the uploaded cover image.

Preview the new cover in the preview area.

Hardcover flip template

The Hardcover flip template is a bit different. You can use one of the 5 types of leather-like covers, a solid color of your choice, file’s first page or a custom image for cover.

IV. The Controls section is for options that affect reader's interaction with the flipbook.

Always show flip buttons

Flip buttons help viewers understand what action they should take in the beginning of the presentation. Even though FlipSnack is self-explanatory by design, there are people who find this guidance helpful.

Show thumbnail navigation Enables or disables the navigator that shows small images of what will be next in the presentation (appears in Fullscreen view).

Enable flip sounds Flip sounds make ebooks feel more like regular books. Page flipping is more fun with sounds, but it may not work for formal presentations.

Enable files download Allow the content of your flipbook to be downloaded by your readers.

Allow full screen Maybe you're just showing a sneak-peak of your work and you don't want your flipbook to be shown in full screen. No problem, you can just uncheck the full screen box.

Show share buttons – and editing them Use share buttons in your presentation: Direct link, Twitter and Facebook buttons will help you boost your audience.

V. Other Settings

Transparent background Select transparent background if you don't want to show a background for the flipbook object. Transparent backgrounds make the flipbooks integrate perfectly with any website design. Auto flip Great way to attract people to read your publication on a website. Also useful for rotating content. Use highlights on links Make people notice and click links in your presentation. Use right to left orientation This option is great for Arabic, Hebrew and other right-to-left languages. Pages will be shown as mirror images.

Enable shelf tooltips Shelf tooltips will show flipping books titles and number of pages. Background vignette If the background is not set to transparent, you will see a cool design effect on the background color. Single page view Set your presentation to show only 1 page at a time. Enable fullscreen wireless presenter A cool new feature that allows you to use a wireless presenter to turn pages. Tooltip language Display short tips for FlipSnack readers in your own language.

VI. Background options

You can choose any background color you want for your widget.

3. Publish

If you got this far it means that your flipping book is done and ready to be shared, so don't close the page yet.

Take a look at the Share/Embed/Download menu, available on all published flipping books.

• Show flip on my profile – Displays your flipping book on your public profile (ex.: www.flipsnack.com/flipsnack)

• Show share buttons on flip page - Enables social sharing in full screen mode.

• Allow comments on flip page – Allows people to leave comments, opinions and feedback on your flipping book page.

• Show “More from this Author” – Allows your content to be easily found by displaying more flipping books from your account.

• Post to wall, tweet, send email – Share your flipbook with friends, fans and followers

• Embed code for Snackwebsites – Embed your flipping book into your Snack Website.

• Embed code – Embed your flipping book into any website

• Download – Download your flipbook to your Computer
