THE LOOKOUT {VENUE}

The Lookout’s unique selling point 

is the magnificent outlook from the terraces of the glass-sided venue,

of iconic landmarks including Cape Town Stadium, Table Bay, Lion’s

Head and of course, the magnificent Table Mountain. 

In addition the interiors wooden flooring and open space is the perfect blank canvas for the

creation of SS Phakisa’s upperdeck

The stage for this event is not only functional, but in fact the most

predominant décor element and prop in the creation for our ships

upper deck, making it a superb focal point.

A set built depicting the helm of our ship provides a poignant stage for

speakers and entertainers alike.

The colour palette used for the set will be carried through to the rest of

the décor and styling to ensure a cohesive look and feel for the

upperdeck of our ship.

With all shipping lanes leading to the Annual Maritime Awards Ceremony,

styling & décor transports guests to the upperdeck of the SS Phakisa with an

industrial colour palette and décor elements.

The secret lies in creating a look that has just the right balance of grit and the perfect touch of glam for an occasion of this stature

Guests are ultimately all in the same boat. Brought together as a result of a shared interest and involvement in

the maritime industry and thus ultimately members of the greater

maritime community.

In this spirit, the suggested menu captures the essence of community and involvement with the main meal elements served family style, whilst

desserts encourage guests to mingle and network.

This method works well for a ‘quizz’. It’s informal, fun and

relies on teamwork.

Each table has a bell, hooter or noisemaker of sorts.

When questions are asked, the first table to ring their bell has the opportunity to answer. The table with the highest score at the end of

the quizz wins.

THE SOUTH AFRICAN NAVY BAND

{ENTERTAINMENT OPT 4}

Internationally acclaimed,  the premier band of the SANDF has been a regular visitor on the international military music scene

since 2002. The band has also travelled the length & breadth of S.A. having performed at all the major venues and in some of the

most rural areas.
