*Continuing Nursing Education Credits (CNEs) are a recognized method of quantifying participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. One contact hour is defined as one hour of time spent in an educational experience.
Competency Level: Novice
If you have less than one year of experience or need an infection prevention basics refresher, this three-day course is designed for you. You’ll be introduced to the various roles and responsibilities of the infection preventionist and gain essential clinical and program management knowledge needed to develop an effective infection prevention program.
Attendees can earn a maximum of 20 CE credit hours*
Key course content includes:
• Basic epidemiology of infectious diseases
• Precautions and exposures to healthcare-associated infections
• Introduction to microbiology
• Designing a surveillance plan
• Using and reporting data

Substitutions
APIC Headquarters must receive all substitution requests in writing (fax or email) prior to the start of the course. In some cases (emergencies), registration fees may be transferred to another course within the same calendar year.
Cancellation Policy
APIC Headquarters must receive all cancellation requests in writing (fax or email) prior to the start of the course. A $75 cancellation fee will be assessed if the request is received on or before the early registration deadline. A $100 cancellation fee will be assessed if the request is received after the early registration deadline. Cancellation fees may be waived upon the occurrence of any
circumstance beyond the control of the attendee – such as acts of God, war, government regulations, disaster, health, civil disorder to the extent that such circumstance makes it impossible to attend.
