The Senior Pastor Search Commiee met on Nov. 14th to review survey responses and other feedback from the members of the congregaon. All told, we received input from roughly one-third of those who regularly aend our services. Among those who work with surveys and opinion polls, that is considered to be a remarkable response. The commiee sees it as an indicaon of the deep investment so many of us have in the spiritual health and future of First Protestant Church. Please be aware that we are extending the deadline for surveys another week, to Sunday, Dec. 2nd. Survey results will be made available as soon as we’ve collected the last group, but at this point we can certainly report that they have been both helpful and hopeful. If you can fill a 2 hour block, please call Gordon Schroeder to coordinate @ 830-743-0714. This fund raising campaign is the most important source for the funds that support all of the Salvation Army’s programs. ** “Laudate Dominum” from Vesperae solennes de confessore (Solemn Vespers for a Confessor), K. 339, is one of the five Vesper psalms and has text taken from the final verse of Psalm 148 giving praise and thanks. Mozart composed the larger work as his final piece for the Salzburg Cathedral, most likely for a vespers service to commemorate an unspecified saint. “Laudate Dominum” is the fifth movement of the larger work and was originally for soprano solo and orchestra with the choir entering at the “Gloria Patri”. Today, we hear the movement with the soloist only.

Praise the Lord, all nations; praise him all people. For his loving kindness has been bestowed upon us,And the truth of the Lord endures forever.
