Please note: Our band and orchestra music is now being collated by an automatic high-speed system. The enclosed parts are now sorted by page count, rather than score order. NOTE FROM THE EDITOR All Belwin string parts have been carefully bowed and fingered appropriately by level. The Yellow Very Beginning series includes many bowings as well as reminder fingerings for first-time readers. The Red Beginning series includes frequent bowings to assist younger players. Fingerings for altered pitches are often marked. The Green Intermediate series includes appropriately placed bowings for middle-level students. Fingerings and positions are marked for notes beyond first position. The Blue Concert series includes bowings appropriate for the experienced high school player. Fingerings and position markings are indicated for difficult passages. This piece was arranged to accommodate a cellist who wished to play the “Nina” for a Concerto Concert, but there was no available accompaniment. In the process, I discovered that this is a great piece for any of the stringed instruments to solo on. Arranged for violin, viola, cello or bass solo with string orchestra accompaniment, this would also make a good small ensemble piece for festival/competition with one or several players to a part. This is a good opportunity for students to learn about projecting as a soloist and/or balancing to a soloist as an accompanist. Students can learn to play softly and still maintain good tone quality with the proper balance between the three basic variables of bow control; pressure (weight), placement (in relation to the bridge or finger board), and speed (or amount) of the bow being used. I recommend using plenty of bow, close to the fingerboard and very little weight or bow pressure. Preview Only Legal Use Requires Purchase

NOTES TO THE CONDUCTOR

A beautiful, melodic piece that is the perfect tune to showcase the player in your orchestra with that terrific tone!
