• Provides seamless battle command capability to leaders at the Brigade level and below.
• Provides units the capability to transmit key combat information rapidly through formatted digital messages.
• Provides situational awareness (SA) by showing the users their position as well as other friendly forces, observed enemy forces, and reported battlefield obstacles.

• The primary digital command and control system for the Army at brigade and below
• Consists of computer hardware and software integrated into tactical vehicles in a variety of configurations
• Distributes Situational Awareness (SA) data and passes Command and Control (C2) messages within and between Brigades
• Depends on a communications infrastructure called the Lower Tactical Internet made up of EPLRS and SINCGARS radios

The SATCOM FBCB2-BFT SystemThe SATCOM FBCB2-BFT System
FBCB2 - BFT consists of an FBCB2 Appliqué Computer, Kontron computer, or FBCB2 Tough-book using GPS for position locating, L-Band Satellite as its means of communications and a Mission Data Loader to transfer large files. FBCB2-BFT is only approved for exchanging unclassified information.
