TOGETHER WE LEARN
Student Voice
Tyler Rapley and Keigan Sutton are our budding journos this
week for Student Voice. They are writing about our busy week
with the Book Fair, Book Week and Ski Trip.
Keigan:
Tyler:
Hello, my name is Tyler Rapley. I am in Lawson and my teacher is Mr Roddy, I have one sibling at this school, my sister Ella. My favourite subjects are Maths and Sports. At lunch and recess I like to play soccer and a couple of other things. My hobbies at home are playing video games, kicking a football around and I sometimes playing handball with Ella. Last week was a very busy week at Franklin Public School. On Wednesday and Thursday we had World of Maths, which was a visit from a mathematician who organised a range of exciting activities for all the students to do. This included weighing, addition, working on gears, puzzle solving, making shapes and more! Also, a few other people and I went down to help the Kindergartens on their activities, they also had a great time working on them. Similarly last week the Extension Group have been creating media to support the whole school performance. If you don’t know what this extension group is, I'll give you a brief summary. We have worked on advertisements, short videos, and comics and currently we are working on our performance project. I can’t give away too much information but I can tell you one thing, you’re going to have a great time at the performance. Thank you for reading Student Voice, that’s all from me.
Hi I am Keigan Sutton, I am in Year 5 and my class is Lawson at Franklin Public School. My favourite subjects are Science and Maths. When I am at school I like to play soccer, basketball, football, play on the fixed equipment and play 24 Home-base with my friends. Last week the Book Fair was open from Monday to Friday and as always students were eager to see the fantastic display put together by Ms Myers and her happy helpers. On Tuesday there was a book parade where students dressed up as one of their favourite characters out of a book. The hall was packed with proud parents who were entertained by the wonderful costumes and ‘MC’ Mr Crane’. I got dressed up and went as Ron Weasley from Harry Potter. I saw a lot of cool costumes including Harry Potter’s Draco Malfoy. Ms Barton was in a dog or bear costume (not sure), there were also some basketball players, Dorothy, Tin Man, Lion, Wicked Witch of the West, Toto, and Scarecrow from the Wizard Of Oz. On Thursday there was a Ski Trip for Stage 3. Students had to be at school by 6:00 in the morning and they got back at 7:00 at night. Mr Roddy said that “All students did really well in some tough weather conditions! Thanks to Miss Rampling, Zac and Jordan for their awesome supervision of the skiers.” That’s all from me, Keigan Sutton. Have a great week and thanks for reading student voice!

What’s happening at Tumut School’s As Community Centres:
We'll be exploring and investigating everything ‘buggy’ this week at SaCC. We have implemented an insect enquiry area complete with a terrarium, to spark the children's interest. We will be looking at many different species and discovering
how many legs they have. I wonder what will be inside the terrarium hiding under the rocks?
On Wednesday 14th August come dressed up in your PJ's for playgroup, bring a plate with something blue on it and a gold coin donation to help raise funds for
Asthma Australia.
