FREE & UNIFORM EDUCATION FOR ALL
The education is backbone of a society .Unfortunately the education system
prevailing in India is good for only for rich and urban middle class population
as they can afford pay high fees of public Schools . However average middleclass and poor are worst sufferer of the existing education system due to high
cost .The poor and rural population is dependent upon government schools
which lack poor infrastructure and poor quality .
Problems In Govt. Schools
Poor MaintenanceLack of infrastructure often found in Govt. Schools. Schools in small towns and rural places donot even have bare minimum facilities like regular electricity, drinking water, hygienic Toilets andsitting arrangements.
Unaccountability of TeacherTeachers are under utilized. Often the Govt. teachers come for few hours and leave. Most ofmale teachers do part time work everywhere whether it is small town or metro city. Studentteacher relations get unprofessional, due to this mode of working of teachers. A Tuition shop isanother problem, which is a parallel education system. Urban children are main victims.
Defective EquipmentsDue to faults in Govt. Tendering system, often-poor quality equipments/ Lab instruments arepurchased and remain as junk.
Poor Infrastructure like dirty toilets and furniture
Results of students compare with Private schools is poor
PROBLEMS IN PRIVATE SCHOOLS
1 Private Schools charge capitation fees, which go accounted and leads to generation of black
money.
2 Private schools in small towns lack infrastructure like adequate space for playground ,library
and Lab facilities.
3 Public Schools compel parents to buy uniforms and books from inhouse single vendor shop.
4 Teachers are paid less and asked to sign on blank recipts .
5 Often school teachers exploit children by offering them tuitions compulsory .
6 Drivers of buses carring students are found to be low cost and illiterate and behave rudely anddrive buses recklessly .
The Supreme Court made a fundamental right in 1993 through historic
Unikrishnan judgment to provide free education from nursery to class VIII. But
no political party in India bothered to implement it.

The government should make a fundamental right to provide free. Compulsory
and uniform education to all, till secondary level. There should be no private
schools and children from all the sections of the society should study in the
same school.
Performance in Government schools
The condition of government schools in small towns and in villages is very poor.
There are many problems of prevailing school system in villages and small
towns. One of the key problem is lack of accountable management system at
state level. Besides grant and financing through several rural education
schemes the system suffers from various problems such as:
1. The availability of dedicated and serious teachers.
2. The teachers do not get proper wages in time and hence lose interest.
3. Lack of school infrastructure - No proper shelter to protect from sun and
rain, no proper sitting arrangement, no toilets, no tools to teach, no
computers and lack of sports equipments and so on.
4. The lack of roads, transport and connectivity of schools to nearby villages.
It is seen that students have to come from far off places as much as 4 to
5 km to reach nearest school.
5. The quality of education is very poor and pass percentage is low compare
to towns.
6. School dropout rate is very high. Often boys drop from class VIII and girls
from class IV.
7. Guidance to parents does not exist.
8. Development funds do not reach and are siphoned by corrupt officials atvarious levels.

High Cost by Private schools
There is mushrooming of private schools everywhere in small towns and in
metro towns. There are big brand name schools like Delhi Public School and
small school which work like shop (unorganized sector). Most of schools run
under a society name which is supposed to be on no loss and no profit basis. In
the name of society these schools extract lot of benefits, aides from government
and spin money.
The quality of education in unorganized proprietor based schools is very poor.
The teachers are low paid. The fees are quite high depending upon locality and
availability of educated class in the area. Thus fees can be from Rs. 25 to 500
per month per child.
The branded schools in metro towns are blood suckers of parents. They chargeheavy fees, heavy transport fees, development fees and so on from time to
time. The monthly fees in branded public schools range from Rs 5000/-
to Rs 50000/-.
Besides they also charge huge capitation fees at time of entry. The parents of
rich or medium class have to struggle in their life to pay high cost of schooling
in their life.
The regulatory for private schools always favors school management and lets
them charge heavy fees and fee hikes from time to time.
There is always mad rush for good schools. What are good schools? These are
one where pass percentage in CBSE is almost 100%. Then these are the one
where no of students getting above 90% total marks is highest (order of 90 %).
Such high performer schools become favourite among parents and the demand
and hence capitation fees of such schools increases.
This is mad world. Students are getting 95% and above in subjects as science
and literature. This is mad rush to suck money from parents. The parents areasked to arrange for external tuitions. We are forced into a vicious circle which
has created following new social problems with no solution in sight.

MAD RUSH FOR TUTIONS
1. Parents have to work hard to earn to meet high cost of schooling.
2. The parents are forced into never ending lust for career build up of their
children right from class VIII onwards.
3. The children are put on stress. They have to face competition from class
VIII to get subjects of their choice from class IX. Then they are forced to
prepare for competitive exams for IIT or Medical.
4. The world of IIT competition and business industry to prepare students
for IIT entrance exam is another mad rush created by our society.
5. The people connected with this are earning money to train students forintelligent solutions and reasoning to excel in entrance exams.
6. The talent, the manpower and the money spent on such competitions is
total waste from a nation growth perspective. It does not help nation in
any form, except few students who are finally selected and money
spinners who manage the tuitions industry.
The talent pool available could be better used in scientific labs to work on
fundamental sciences which our country lacks today.
WAY OUT
Thus there is need to ban all these competitions and only allow CBSE
marks as qualifying criteria for admission to IITs/engineering
colleges and Medical seats.

FREE EDUCATION FOR ALL- GATEWAY TO CASTELESS SOCIETY
Uniform Education --------- Towards a better world
What could be better than a model school where children from all walks of the
society learn together under the same roof from a common teacher?
They get free education till secondary level irrespective of their caste and rich or
poor. This is the only way to bring socialism.
Just imagine there are no private and public schools. There are no schools for
rich and elite. There is only one school system run by government. Everybody
rich or poor has easy access to school admissions, whether one is in small
village or small town or metro city. The children study under a common dress
code. If such a system exists then automatically we land up with society that
will give equal opportunity for one and all.
If school system also permits to have value added education by teaching human
religion, Nature cure and Yoga Science, Moral Science and value for ones
nation, then the children coming out from such schools will lead to a casteless
society. A new society will be formed which will be casteless and more
tolerating, understanding and knowledgeable.
Such model schools can be pillars of a better world. This is the only way to get
out of castes clutter created by our politicians. Let us all unite and fight for a
uniform and free education system and a castless society. Let us create our
future generations based on new safe world of equality.
Benefits of Uniform Education:
1. Formation of casteless society.
2. It helps in reducing the gap between haves and have-nots.
3. A Common system of education for people from all levels will get equal
opportunities.
4. It would help in building of character and inculcation of morals and values.

5. Sowing seeds of national unity with and integration in the minds of young
children.
6. It would teach the students to respect all religion.
7. Would reduce religious fundamentalism.
8. And finally it would solve the problem of reservation by providing a fair
chance to all.
Funds for Free Education
Raising of funds for free education cannot be a problem if we start Social
Security Fund which gets contribution from employees once they getemployment as is the trend in most of European countries.
The regular employees contribution goes to State Social Security fund which in
turn provides free education and health to all citizens. This is a wise situation
for both citizens and govt. which provides good services through peoples own
money.
