ZoETIC WaLLS Zoetic is a word that means life and Wa-terloo Arts’ Zoetic Walls project brought he walls of the Waterloo Arts district to life with murals painted by some of the finest street artists in the country. Adding to the 20+ murals in the district, Lynnea Holland-Weiss will create a mural on-site during the WAF. For a map of all the Zoetic Walls murals, visit www.WaterlooArts.org.

Lynea Holland-WeissLynnea Holland-Weiss is a painter originally from Berkeley, CA. She received her BFA from California College of the Arts in the Painting Department. Her work is always figurative and involving the human form in some way or another. Her background is in Dance, therefore body language, gestures and movement often inspire and inform her painting process and content. Her approach is painterly in nature and full of color and pattern. Her work delves into our basic human instincts and emotions, our interactions with one another and the mystery of being. www.LynneaHollandWeiss.com• Sponsored by Tucker Ellis

SCULPTURES In THE gaRdEn Curated by Laila VossKatherine Schultz and Darrell Stout are re-cent graduates of University of Akron, The Mary Schiller Myers School of Art, where Laila Voss is a senior lecturer. They were selected by Laila Voss to install site specific work in the Waterloo Sculpture Garden for the Waterloo Arts Fest.

Katherine SchultzThis work explores my interest in plants, history, and geography and is focused on the site of the sculpture garden. It employs the map and little-known local history, landmarks, and flora. Participants may use a map to conduct a self-guided mini-tour of the garden—hopefully inspiring new interest and regard for the location.

darrell StoutWith this installation, my intention is to transform Styrofoam noodles to construct a large sculpture at the Waterloo Sculpture Garden. The sculpture will be completed

with the help of the public during the Waterloo Arts Festival and transcend in front of the eyes of the public.

Laila Voss Laila Voss is best known for multi-media in-stallations, performances, sculptures, draw-ings and public art projects in the United Sates and abroad as well as. Her work has been featured in several major art institu-tions and is included in both private and corporate art collections. Laila Voss is active on SPACES’ board and is a senior lecturer at the University of Akron, The Mary Schil-ler Myers School of Art.

LaKE ERIE TREaSURES oUTdooR gaLLERyArtists Grace Summanen & Loren Naji have lead an art project for kids 5 to 13 years old that began with a beach clean-up to discov-er art materials. The materials were made into art during workshops and now are on display in this outdoor gallery. All artwork is for sale and partial proceeds given to the local charity, Euclid Beach Adopt-A-Beach Team™. Also, festival-goers can produce art on-site, and it will be immediately hung in the Gallery. Come create art from the trash we collected!
