You should now have 2 Red/Cream blocks finishing at 6 ½ inches.

Repeat these steps to make one Green/Cream 6 ½ inch block.

(If your block turns out to be a little smaller because your ¼ inch seam was a little bigger

it’s no big deal you can make sashing to fit!)

Piecing the Sashing

1. Using the 1 ½ inch green and red sashing strips sew

2 – Green/Red/Green sashing units

1- Red/ Green/Red unit.

2. From the Red/Green/Red sashing strips cut 16- 1 ½ inch units. From the

Green/Red/Green sashing strips cut 8- 1 ½ inch units.

3. Using the pieces from step 2 make 8 Red/Green 9 patches.

4. From the remaining Green/Red/Green sashing units cut 10- 6 ½ inch units. (This is

where you will measure your block, if it didn’t turn out to be exactly 6 ½ inches, you will

cut your sashing strips in this step whatever size your block is. Ex. If your block is 6 ¼

inches cut your 10 Green/Red/Green sashing units 6 ¼ inches.)
