It‟s holiday camp time, the perfect time to create in clay. Join us at The Clay House for ceramic classes which will get everyone‟s creativity flowing. Danica Wichtermann and Michelle Horrocks will be providing small classes with one on one instruction for the students. Our clay classes will engage clay keeners of all ages in expressing themselves through clay while learning new skill sets. Students will have the opportunity to work with all the tools and materials the professionals use while receiving instruction from accomplished ceramic artists. We have different courses available including three day holiday camps, which are a great way to for the fledgling artist to create more involved projects while developing their skills and techniques. There is also one day or half day classes, and professional development courses for adults and teachers and a master class on wheel throwing with an internationally acclaimed Ceramist Cathi Jefferson

Courses include all non-toxic materials, tools, and firing. Students‟ are able to finish their creations by painting them with bright colourful slips. Staff will then bisque fire, clear glaze and glaze fire the finished work ready for pickup approximately 4 weeks later. Mid morning snacks will be provided.

Tree Home Sculpture and Underwater animal with Danica Wichtermann Whole day Class or ½ day option. Age 5-11+ A day of making some beautiful outdoor sculptures, with a fairytale tree home and some amazing underwater animals. Functional Clay –Mugs & Bowls

Learn hand-building techniques to make your very own mug, jug or bowl. Once built, decorate your piece by painting on colourful non-toxic un-der glazes. Pieces will be fired and glazed at FAC and usable to eat and drink out of.

•Yachting Australia accredited levels attained: Basic skills 1 & 2 and Better Sailing. Suitable for Optimist Bronze fleet.

•These classes are open to the public and suitable for children between 8 and 11 years of age.

Have you ever wanted to run away with the circus? Fancy learning how to juggle, walk a tight rope, or swing on a trapeze??

Then come on down to Circus WA for our School Holiday Workshops!

These school holidays, kids from 5-13 years old can come and try out the circus for them-selves. With activities like diablo, unicycling, acrobatic tumbling, trapeze, and hula hoop, there‟s plenty of fun to be had, and new things to learn!

Each workshop will run for 1.5 hours, and will be led by our talented trainers, who are all Circus performers themselves. The trainers will guide the students through various apparatus, and help them to develop their strength and coordination as well as skills they never knew they had!

Workshops will be split into two age groups – 5-8 years and 9-13 years, allowing students to learn and play in a comfortable environment with others their own age.

Week 1

A holiday workshop that encourages creativity, confidence and imagination!

Opening the world of puppetry up to children between the ages 4-12. Not only will they build a puppet but they will also seeing our current show and meet the performers.

All they need to bring with them is lunch, morning tea and a drink.

So, if you think the kids might need some time away from the parents to explore their imaginations and get creative, or just hang out with friends in a fun environment, then send them to us.

One Day Puppet Making Workshop (4 – 6 year olds)

A full day of puppet making and learning about puppetry from 9.00am – 3.00pm, with morning tea and lunch breaks. The children will also go to watch the 1pm performance of the current show and have the chance to talk to the cast and crew afterwards.

First week of holidays: Tuesday 30th September, Friday 3rd October

Second week of holidays: Monday 6th October, Thursday 9th October, Friday 10th October.

Two Day Puppet Making Workshop (7 – 12 year olds)

Little Big Shots, Australia‟s premier film festival for kids, is coming to Fremantle Arts Centre this

October school holidays! An inspiring, hand-picked selection of leading international and

Australian kids‟ films, Little Big Shots includes short animations and live action films for all ages

which will be screened outdoors in our idyllic Inner Courtyard.

In its first year at Fremantle Arts Centre audiences will be treated to 40 films from 20 countries

across three days including the Best of the Fest selection, featuring the Festival Director‟s

Choices and the 2014 Kids Jury winners. Founded in Melbourne in 2004, LBS now holds

festivals right around Australia.

Fremantle Arts Centre Director Jim Cathcart said Little Big Shots was a brilliant, affordable way

to entertain the kids this school holidays.

“The selected films are the best and liveliest, most artful and entertaining short films from across

the world. Little Big Shots coincides with FAC‟s hugely successful Kids Holiday Program.

Families can see a film, have lunch at the café and then do a course.”

Each session is less than an hour, showing up to 12 short films designed for particular age

groups between 2-15 years. Buster The Fun Bus is on site during the festival
