Mission Statement St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, Anderson SC was founded in 1943 by the Franciscans of the Holy Name Province, New York. The intention then and today, was and is to, in the spirit of Jesus Christ and St. Francis, minister in and with the African
American Catholic community and to reach out to the African Americans of Anderson County. Furthermore, all who come to St. Mary’s from whatever background and ethnicity with a desire for Christian family will be regarded as brothers and sisters to
us. We also see ourselves as called to live in Gospel relationship to the alienated and the poor of this community.

Meetings are the first Monday of the following months, Jan, Mar, May, Jun, Sep and Nov, at 6:00 PM. In the Parish Hall.
Parish Council meeting will be open to all parishioners. If a non-member parishioner wishes to address the Council, this must be requested, including the subject, at least one week in advance (so it can be put on the agenda) through the Parish Council President. Presentation must be limited to the subject requested.

Our Baptismal Preparation Classes will be held by appointment only on the 2nd Saturday of the month, at 10:00 AM in the basement of the Friary. Please enter the Friary through the side Yellow Door.

The AnMed Health Mobile Mammography Coach is returning to St Mary of the Angels. Sign ups for
a Mammogram will be Sunday April 15 and Sunday April 22 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the Parish
Hall. You MUST complete the form at sign ups to get a date and time for a Mammogram on April 28
or April 29. Available time slots will be limited.
Mammogram exams are covered by most insurance providers. However, if there are any women in
St Mary of the Angels who do not have insurance, AnMed has arranged very reasonable special pricing
for the exam if you wish to pay for the exam. If you do not have insurance and cannot afford to pay for
the exam, AnMed Health has special funding available to support these women.
The goal of AnMed is to ensure ALL women have access to screening mammograms.
The AnMed Health Mobile Mammography coach makes getting your yearly mammogram more
convenient with the same powerful technology and expertise as in the hospital.
