Questions around Pass/Drop option or Plan Selection?

We know many of you are waiting for guidance on how the pass/drop option introduced by the Faculty of Arts & Sciences will impact your Winter term courses or your plan selection. We appreciate your patience while we try and get you the most accurate information. Our Department will be meeting on Monday April 6 and we will communicate guidance to you surrounding plan selection and pass/drop as soon as we can. Thank you!

Reminder for all 4th year students ready to graduate:

Remember to apply for graduation via your SOLUS until April 30. Submit your application only once all course registration for Winter 2020 is finalized and your AAR shows all requirements as “satisfied”. If you have any questions about your AAR, contact Anja.

PSYCHOLOGY DEPARTMENTAL DEADLINES AND OPPORTUNITIES

CULTURE AND COGNITION LAB LOOKING FOR RA’S

Dear Second and Third year Psychology students,

The Culture & Cognition lab is hiring research assistants for the 2020/2021 academic year. This volunteer position will begin in September 2020 and would require you to volunteer 8-10 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:

- Attending and contributing to weekly lab meetings

- Recruiting participants for ongoing studies

- Running participants for ongoing studies (data collection)

- Miscellaneous (e.g., entering data, reviewing study materials, editing manuscripts, etc.)

We are looking for students who are conscientious and independent, display multitasking skills and leadership skills, and have great attention to detail. Previous research experience is not required.

Applications are due Sunday, April 19th, 2020. The link for the application form can be found here. Please download the application form, complete, and submit!

Your application should include:

1) A completed Application Form (see attached)

2) An unofficial transcript (downloaded from Solus)

3) Your resume

4) Your interview availability between the dates for April 26th and April 27th. Please note, all interviews will be held online.

PSYCHOLOGY FOUNDATION OF CANADA – AWARDS and GRANTS 2020

The Psychology Foundation of Canada became the new home of the Canadian Psychological Association Foundation in 2015 and now administers the awards and grants programs. *NEW: OUR AWARDS AND GRANTS OPPORTUNITIES HAVE BEEN POSTPONED. WE WILL ANNOUNCE THE NEW DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION AT A LATER DATE.

Distinguished Service Awards - 2020 CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Queen’s faculty, staff, students, and retirees are invited to nominate candidates for a Queen’s Distinguished Service Award. Inaugurated by the University Council in 1974, this award recognizes individuals who have made the University a better place through their extraordinary contributions.

Recipients will be presented with their awards at a ceremony on Friday, November 6th, 2020.

Guidelines, the online nomination form, and additional information are available at https://www.queensu.ca/secretariat/university-council/distinguished-service-awards.

The nomination period has been extended. The deadline for nominations is Friday, May 29th, 2020 at 4 p.m.
