MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE

Matthew chapter 2 records wise men coming from the East to worship

the King of the Jews. Pastor Jeff will be unpacking our role in

worshipping Jesus in these days, in our church services. How does

worship affect our local church, our ministries and impact our

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

This evening our 6:30PM gathering will be a special church business meeting for members to vote on a revised budget for the remainder of

the 2015-2016 fiscal year.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

ANNOUNCEMENTS

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING: This evening at 6:30PM. The Boards

and the Missions Committee have prayerfully considered the financial

state of the church. Therefore, the combined Deacon and Trustee Boards and the Pastoral Staff are calling a congregational meeting to

revise the 2015-2016 Spending Plan (Budget). In preparation for the

meeting this evening, members should pick up a packet of information

at the Welcome Center in the church lobby. The Pastors, Deacons, Trustees and Missions Committee have unanimously agreed to the

proposed changes. Prior to the meeting, questions, opinions and/or

critiques should be directed to the Pastoral Staff, Deacons and/or

Trustees.

MEETING: The Christian Ed Committee will meet next Sunday at

12:30PM in the Youth Basement Café.

Christmas planning

CHRISTMAS CONCERT: The First State Symphonic Band, led by Jon

Wittman, invites you to its annual Christmas Concert on Friday, 12/11 at 7:30PM in FBC’s Worship Center.

Reception follows in the Family Center. If you’re able,

bring tasty finger foods to share (cookies, brownies, etc).

Due to the expected large crowd, contact Pastor Jeff or Pastor Dave if you can help with parking or ushering. Kick off the

holiday season on a high note and bring a friend!

SONGS OF THE SEASON: Next Sunday evening, December 13 at

6:30PM will be a very casual mixture of Christmas music. The Hockings

are coordinating this variety of musical talents and selections. The

program will not be scripted like Christmas Eve service. Instrumental selections, vocal soloists and groups are anticipated. If you are

interested in singing/playing an instrument, please contact the

Hockings at [email protected].

MAGI: Monday evening, December 7, Word of Life will present “Magi,”

a powerful and engaging Christmas musical at Bible Fellowship Church

of Newark. Come experience Truth in the story of a fictional character,

Melchior, a Babylonian wise man in search of answers. As a young man, he traveled to Bethlehem to see the prophecy of a newborn king

fulfilled. More than 30 years have passed since then, and Melchior is

shocked and changed by the truth he learns upon his return to the land

of Israel. As a young man, he seeks a king; as an old man, he finds a Savior. The program will include a unique blend of music, drama and

multi-media. The songs are originals, written and recorded for “Magi.”

This is a great opportunity for reaching out to friends and family. Read

and see more at http://www.wol.org/christmas/.

NEW YEAR’S EVE: This is always a special time of fellowship for the

church family – a covered dish dinner, an excellent film, and the Lord’s Supper. Signup at the main bulletin board.
