Humane Education and Awareness "Friends" is starting its second year of Humane Education in the

Madison County Schools. Our volunteers and their canine am-

bassadors have visited each elementary school and had wonder-

ful experiences talking with the kids about kindness and respon-

sibility to our animal companions. High school classes heard

presentations from vets, trainers, and therapists whose treatment

involves working with horses. Thinking about volunteering in the new school year? Schedules

are flexible and rewards are huge! Volunteers go with and without canine ambassa-

who love animals and want to impart this kinship to youngsters. FOMCA also continues to coordinate with Madison Schools

and Libraries to provide a process for owners and their dogs to

go through Therapy or Good Citizenship Programs. Successful

completion of one of these programs is necessary to visit

schools, libraries, and nursing homes. For more information about volunteering, contact the FOMCA
