On Wednesday, May 13, 2020 Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced that our state would be moving into Phase 1 of the Maryland Strong Roadmap to Recovery. During this phase, with approval of local officials, Churches have been permitted to reopen to the public and hold services at no more than 50% capacity with a total max occupancy of 250. On May 29, 2020 Frederick County local officials have granted permission for FCOB to resume on-site worship services.

As we begin the process of reopening, attending one of our services in person will be different, but attempts have been made to not only be in compliance with state, local, and federal guidelines, but to seek the safety of everyone in our congregation. Over the last two months we have taken time to deep clean and sanitize our building. Our cleaning crew is actively committed to sanitize and clean the building on a regular basis. Additionally, we have crews in place to sanitize all touched surfaces (ex. door handles, countertops, seating) between our worship services and gathering times. We look forward to once again being able to worship with our church family in person!

FCOB PLAN FOR RELAUNCH

ITEMS TO NOTE FOR PHASE 1:

• Services will be approximately 45-minutes. • Outdoor Services will be blended in format.

Services will be held weather permitting. Cancelation notice will be provided by noon the Saturday prior, through the FCOB Facebook page and the church website: FCOB.net.

• Hearing services will be held in the Circle Drive [near entrances F & G]. Deaf Fellowship Service will be held on the Fairview Avenue side [near entrance A].

• PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS. Sanitized chairs will be available on a limited basis.

• Restrooms are available, but it is strongly recommended that you only use them if it is necessary.

• There is no childcare provided. Children & Youth will not meet on campus during service times.

• On site Sunday School classes will not meet for the foreseeable future.

• Online Giving is strongly recommended, but you will be able to give offering at the end of each service.

• We strongly encourage you to view digital copies of song lists [attached] on your digital devices [phones, I-pads, etc.] Limited paper copies will be available. We will have a QR code to retrieve digital copies on site if desired.

STAY HOME IF YOU ARE HIGH-RISK OR SICK: All individuals that fall within the high-risk groups as defined by the CDC, OR if you or anyone in your immediate family is sick and/or has a fever, please stay home, and worship online.

MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING:

The only way we are permitted to gather is if we strongly adhere to social distancing. This means keeping a minimum 6-foot distance between you and others who are not in your immediate family and/or household.

AVOID PHYSICAL INTERACTION:

We strongly recommend that you refrain from shaking hands, hugging, and other forms of physical interaction. No items will be passed among attendees at FCOB, including offering plates, print materials, or other worship items.

SANITIZE REGULARLY: Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the FCOB campus. Please let us know if you need assistance.

WEAR YOUR MASK: It is required that you come to church with a mask and keep it on the entire time you are on the FCOB campus. This is not only for your own protection, but to protect those around you. Masks are not required for children 2 years old and under.
