What is DURAGRATE?

DURAGRATE molded berglass grating is a strong mesh gratingpanel that is the chemical resistant ooring choice for many industrialapplications. DURAGRATE panels are molded in one piece and featurea concave non-slip walking surface. The cost- effective panels allow forefcient on-site cutting to minimize grating waste and load bearing barsin both directions allow for use without continuous side support.

DURAGRATE molded berglass grating is signicantly lighter in weightthan metallic gratings and the high resin content provides excellentcorrosion resistance and requires very little maintenance. A highersafety factor is achieved by designing in a higher glass content at thebottom of the grating for greater tensile strength.

Materials of Construction

DURAGRATE molded berglass grating is composed of berglassrovings combined with a choice of ve thermosetting resin systems. Allof the resins contain a UV inhibitor.

Standard DURAGRATE

grating has a concave prole on the uppersurface for skid resistance. Grit tops are available upon request.

The Exide Battery Plant in Manchester, Iowa installed corrosionresistant DURAGRATEaround its tanks of sulfuric acid.

Stair Treads DURAGRATE molded berglass stair treads are available in a 1-1/2" (38.1mm) thick 1-1/2"(38.1mm) x6"(152.4mm) rectangular mesh pattern. The standard panel size is 22-1/2" (571.5mm) x 10' (3048mm).Stair treads can be produced in any of the standard DURAGRATE resin systems. The stair tread panelcomes complete with anti-slip nosing.

How to Specify

The molded berglass grating shall be DURAGRATEas supplied by Strongwell. Grating panels shall be(pick one from chart for thickness, mesh pattern,resin code) molded grid pattern. The grating shall beone-piece construction with the tops of the bearingbars and cross bars in the same plane. Color shallbe (green) (orange) (yellow) (dark gray) (light gray).Surface shall be (concave top) (gritted).

NOTE: All panel sizes available in VE, XVE, PP, GP or FFresin systems. NPP and NVE resin systems are availablein most panel sizes. Custom panel sizes and resinsavailable upon request.

Sealing Kits

To maintain corrosion resistance and structural integrity, standard

resin sealing kits are available to protect the exposed ends of cut

panels and other components.

Curb Angle

Strongwell's pultruded berglass Curb Angle provides a stro

rm base for bearing bars. Standard Curb Angle is produced

ing a gray, re retardant vinyl ester resin system and is avail
