1.6.1 - Exercise: Letterform
I created the missing letter characters by choosing pieces of
other letters, which I combined and altered toform the missing
letters. This method created letters that have the particular
nuances of the typeface.
The letter “b” is simply just the “d” mirrored.
The “f” derived from the “t”, which has been flipped and
lengthened vertically and the crossbar has been
positioned appropriately.
The “k”’s stem is uniform to the typeface, specifically copied
from the “l”. The arm and leg derived from the
“x”; the vertices adjusted to present appropriate space in the
vertex.
The “y” derived from the “v”. The descending tail is
approximately the height of the ascender height.
