FÊTE DES APPRENTIS CENTENAIRES !

The number of adults age 60+ will swell to two billion by 2050.

“Not so young but not so old,” we can become “apprentice

centenarians”!

During the past seven years, the creative drive of the Paris-based

association, OLD’UP, has been focused on optimizing aging. We are

shaping an active leadership role for this new generation of older

adults who are seeking meaning and purpose. Voila! Apprentice

centenarians, the “new old” of OLD’UP, are exploring unprece-

dented opportunities at the new frontier of our elongated human

existence.

The men and women grappling with this major challenge of our

time are innovating as they advance along the cutting edge of old

age. Whether well-known or anonymous, they have a wealth of

discoveries to share. All of us are on a dynamic and fruitful trek,

seeking and finding fulfillment both in solitude and community.

What is the purpose and value of the extended lifespan of the

21st century? We need to open up debate and work together to

forge answers about the challenges of today and tomorrow. This

is the objective of the symposium and the apprentice centenarians’

celebration scheduled for the 10th of October in Paris.
