08.14.20 Dear AHS Families, Mid-August is HERE in full effect!!! It’s HOT, HUMID, and the somewhat leisurely pace of the summer has made way for the HUSTLE of getting ready for school to start back up! Today, we welcomed around 300 freshmen to Anderson High School - whether in person or online. It was absolutely great to see students back in this building! I was overwhelmed by the POSITIVE & FOCUSED attitude of this freshman class! Speaking with each of the groups of students, I had full eye-contact, phones were put away, and students were engaged! It was so encouraging!!! The Class of 2024 has already shown me that they are ready to join our FAMILY here at Anderson High School! With all the negativity, pessimism, criticism, and judgement out there in our world today, I take great comfort knowing that our house remains in order! We’re not perfect and we never will be, but I was reminded today that our STUDENTS are incredibly special and we are ready for a great school year! To you parents - I would encourage you in the same way I encouraged our new students earlier today - know that we will overcome the obstacles set before us this year! I have full faith in the faculty and staff of Anderson High School!!! THANK YOU, in advance, for all of your SUPPORT, GRACE, and PARTNERSHIP as we gear up for a fantastic year at Anderson! Have a GREAT weekend! Rob P.S. We were excited to offer a Virtual Freshman Orientation Option to our Anderson freshmen

enrolled in our Virtual Academy this semester!! FROM THE DISTRICT:

Technology Survey: We respectfully request that families fill out THIS technology device request form to request a computer for your child from Forest Hills School District, under the condition you do not have a dedicated device capable of working for your child at home. This survey will help us address the technology needs of our students enrolled in the Virtual Academy as well as make preparations should the district need to transition to a fully remote model during the semester. This survey must be completed by 5 p.m. on Monday, August 17.

Transportation Survey: As we finalize our plans and protocols regarding transportation, we also ask that families respond to THIS survey by 5 p.m. on Monday, August 17. We ask that all families participate in the survey, even if your child will not ride the bus this year.

Virtual Academy Reminder: Please keep in mind that we cannot accept requests to move students in or out of the Virtual Academy. This is due to the significant staffing plans in place to meet student needs in both programs. We are finalizing individual student schedules, and students must remain in their current academic model through the remainder of the fall semester. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

2020-2021 STUDENT SCHEDULES & SUPPLIES - UPDATE: Student schedules will be released on Progress Book next week on 8/20.
