Formable Furniture
An embedded flexible cable allows Reed Crawford's FormableFurniture to transform from a flat pile of slats to an actual chairor table, reminiscent of gigantor watch links. While the cable isloose, the structure can be manipulated into the desired shape
to be held in place by tightening and locking the cable. ByReed Crawford

Application of ergonomics indesign
ergonomic isthe study of the relationship between workers andtheir environment, esp the equipment they use
Design to body positions and motions of the tasks.

Current situation aboutergonomics in design
Seats are too deep - forces people either to sit at the frontedge of the seat and slouch or sit with their feet sticking out.
Solution for this would be to design a seat depth which issuitable for short users, or to offer different seat depths.
Seat heights are too low or too high - designers mustdecide on their intended user population and use the
appropriate seat height and slope.
Angle of the backrest and the height of the backrestis not suitable for the purpose - solution would be to
design high back chairs with a neck cushion, the position ofwhich can be adjusted to suit the user.
