GEs
What are Generic Enablers (GEs)?
Based upon a specificationFIWARE GEs specifications are public and royalty free
Open Source reference implementationMultiple compliant implementations for each GE are possible
Reusable and commonly shared functions Accessible trough RESTful APIs
Ok, but what means
Future Internet?
Data/Context managementEasing access, gathering, processing, publication and analysis of data at large scale, transforming it into valuable knowledge available to applications.
Cloud hostingThe fundamental layer which provides the computation, storage and network resources on top of which services are provisioned and managed.
SecurityMechanisms which ensure that the delivery and usage of services is trustworthy and meets security and privacy requirements.
Interfaces to Networks and Devices (I2ND)To make the most of underlying network infrastructure capabilities.
Applications/Services Ecosystems and Delivery FrameworkThe framework to co-create, publish, cross-sell and consume applications/services, addressing all business aspects.
Internet of Things (IoT) Services EnablementThe bridge where Future Internet services interface and leverage the ubiquity of heterogeneous, resource-constrained devices in the Internet of Things.
Advanced Middleware and Web-based User InterfaceTo make it easy to incorporate 3D & Augmented Reality capabilities in web-based user interfaces, plus the most efficient backend middleware ever.
The technical chapters of FIWARE?http://catalogue.fi-ware.org/
What are the benefits of FIWARE?
Platform build upon open standardsNo vendor lock-in, because all GEs are replaceable
