During the month of May, we are delighted that the Rever-
end Bo Lewis will celebrate the Sunday services at St. Pe-
ter’s Church. Rev. Lewis served as
Rector of the Church of the Resurrection in Loudon, Ten-
nessee, for 10 years before retiring to start Grace Point
Hymn of Promise
In the bulb there is a flower; in the seed, an apple tree; In cocoons, a hidden promise: butterflies will soon be free! In the cold and snow of winter there’s a spring that waits to be, Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.
There’s a song in every silence, seeking word and melody; There’s a dawn in every darkness, bringing hope to you and me. From the past will come the future; what it holds, a mystery, Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.
In our end is our beginning; in our time, infinity; In our doubt there is believing; in our life, eternity, In our death, a resurrection; at the last, a victory, Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

The St. Peter’s CREATE group requests donations of gently used sports equipment during the month of May. Clean out your garage and bring to the Church office bicycles, scooters, balls of all kinds, bats, cleats, helmets, shin guards, Frisbees, racquets, etc. All equipment will be checked for safety and donated to needy children in our community.
During this time of transition, if you need assistance in case of an emergency outside of Church Office hours (8:30 am to 3:30 pm), please feel free to contact
Sr. Warden Bill James at 423-463-2259 or Jr. Warden Nancy Johnson at 423-645-9837.
A Note from the Interim Rector
HONOR SUPPORT
Dear People of St. Peter’s:
Adieu. It has been my profound pleasure and responsibility to serve you for the past 2 years. We contracted for this time and this time has ended. The work, however, is not done and so the focus has to remain. That focus I tag as HONOR and SUPPORT.
Some of you were in church this past week when I said this from the pulpit before my sermon and have already heard this message. You need to HONOR and SUPPORT your bishop, his staff, your elected leaders, and your-selves. Let me go on the record to say that this Vestry is one of the best I’ve ever worked among. I have been blessed with three really great people as the wardens while I was here: Bill James, Alan Janney, and Nancy Johnson.
You have a committee made up of parishioners, Vestry members, and school representatives who are charged with helping find the right clergyperson for you. As a family you need to HONOR and SUPPORT them and their work. Some of what they do must be done confidentially. You need to trust that fact.
HONOR means respect the charge given to these people as Vestry members and as committee members. Tell them what you think the parish needs and know that they will listen to you and take your comments to heart. HONOR means trust the system even when you might find that hard to do. HONOR means your continued hope as exemplified in the prayer that is being prayed every Sunday at the end of the Prayers of the People, asking the Holy One to be with us so that a “good and faithful pastor” may soon be among you.
SUPPORT by asking where help is needed by the above-mentioned leaders. SUPPORT means to pray daily for each of these leaders. SUPPORT means to see the benefit of being close to one another and finding what your metal is really made of these days.
Lastly, remember the words of Julian of Norwich. Dame Julian lived in England of the 14th century. Life was hard and her life was particularly unique, being “anchored” to the parish church by living in a small room that had only two open-ings to the world: an opaque window to the street and an opening to the sanctuary that allowed the priest to give her communion. She is best remembered by many for her saying, “all manner of things shall be well.” She trusted in the Lord. She honored God and sought her support from the Holy. Not a bad ideal.
Peace and adieu, Rob+

St. Peter’s “Honey-do List”
The new Buildings & Grounds Committee needs your help to identify items around our facilities that need immediate attention. If you notice a burned-out light, a leaky faucet, a cracked window, or anything you think might need to be addressed and corrected, please add it to the “Honey-do List” on the bulletin board in the Bracewell Room. We will check on it and try to see that it is addressed in a timely manner. We ask that you not try to do any repairs your-self. We are working to document all work done and keep an accurate record of costs incurred. We certainly appreciate your willingness to offer help, but we can use that help better on our Parish Work Days. Committee members’ names and contact infor-mation are posted with the Honey-do List. Thank you!

This Easter, St. Peter's Youth hid more eggs than we could ever have imagined! We kicked off the Easter weekend by hosting a Community Easter Egg hunt at Renaissance Presbyterian Church for the residents of West Side Chattanooga, followed by our annual Easter egg hunt for the children of St. Peter’s. Thank you to everyone who came out to join in the fun! We had a wonderful turnout and fun was had by all! A special thanks goes out to the Youth for helping fill and hide all of the
eggs!
Summer Youth Program:
As many of you are aware, I will be leaving to work my final summer as the Staff Leader at Grace Point Camp and Retreat Center from May 18 to July 31. Although I will not be present, the Summer Youth Pro-gram will continue as scheduled. In order to maintain progress within both the Youth and the College & Career programs during my ab-sence, two Summer Interns, as well as a Summer Intern Supervisor, will step in to fill the gap.
Throughout the summer, the interns will be responsible for planning and executing weekly Youth Bible study programs, service projects, and extracurricular on- and off-site events. Although I will be at Grace Point for the majority of the summer, I will simply be a phone call away and I will return to St. Peter’s as much as I possibly can through-
Our preschoolers learn and grow through child-initiated,
cooperative play and fun-filled learning centers.
