HEAD COACH MARK BYINGTON

Mark Byington was named Georgia Southern's 13th head men’s basketball coach on April 1, 2013.

Led the Eagles to a 15-19 mark in 2013-15 and took Georgia Southern to its first SoCon Semifinals since 2005 in debut season.

Every senior has graduated since Byington joined the Eagles in the spring of 2013.

Joined the Eagles after a one-year stint at Virginia Tech in 2012-13.

Coached seven seasons at College of Charleston under legendary Head Coach Bobby Cremins.

Was named Interim Head Coach at College of Charleston in 2012 for the final 11 games of the season. Earned a 7-4 record over that span including a victory over Kent State in the ESPN Bracketbusters Tourna-ment.

Worked with NBA Draft Picks Erick Green (Virginia Tech) and Andrew Goudelock (College of Charleston).

Played collegiately at UNC Wilmington, scoring more than 1,000 career points while earning All-CAA Honors and a spot on the All-CAA Defensive Team as a senior.

Named Virginia High School Player of the Year in 1994 as a senior at Salem High School in Salem, Va.

MONTAE GLENN SIGNS WITH EAGLESThe Eagles made one addition in the early signing period by inking Montae Glenn to a National Letter of Intent (NLI). A 6-7 power forward from Carrolton, Ga., Glenn was a 4A All-State Selection by the AJC, Georgia Sportswriters Association and the state's coaches.

"I am really excited to have Montae join our basketball family," said Head Coach Mark Byington. "Montae was the first player in the 2015 class that I offered a scholarship to and, is very important for our future. He has great size and tremendous hands. Montae is one of the few high school players in the country that can score with his back to basket and also step out shoot jump shots. He has been well coached in high school and AAU basketball so I feel he can make an immediate impact. In addi-tion to his basketball skill and ability, I was very impressed with him as a person, his dedication in the classroom, and his family."
