EntriesEverybody (including children!) are encouraged to enter any of the classes in Sections A to H (20p per exhibit). Section X is for children only (free entry). Section Y is for children at Landscove School and St. Christopher’s School (free entry). Entry Forms are in the Schedule and on the web site.Enter by filling in an entry form and sending it to the show entries secretary (see Rule 4 on page 11).The Fun Dog Show is entered on the day, £1 per class.Entries Close: Saturday 27th July 2019 (See Rule 4)DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT ENTERING ON SHOW DAY!!!

Show DayBring exhibits no later than 9:30 am.Show tent closes at 9:45 am.Judging starts at 10:00 am.Lunch starts at 1:00 pm.Show to be opened by the President at 2:15 pm.Fun Dog Show at 2:30 pm (entries on the day, £1 per class)Collect Prize Money between 3:00 and 4:00 pm from the Show Treasurer.Sports start at 3:15 pm, followed by the Tug-of-War.Tea Tent opens at 3:15 pm.Cups & Special Prizes presented at 4:45 pm.Raffle Draw at 5:30 pm.Show closes at 6:00 pm after Ray’s Egg Game.

WelcomeI would like to extend a warm welcome to all those who support the show either by exhibiting, helping or just turning up and enjoying yourselves. All of you make the show what it is.
New this year is our Fun Dog Show – let’s hope it is a great success and many thanks to last year’s President Keira James for organising it.
I would like to thank those individuals and businesses who generously donate raffle prizes.
As well as the sports there are the side shows and local stalls – please give them your support.
Let’s hope the weather is kind to us on the day.
Bring family and friends and enjoy our local show. Something for everyone!
On the day, dress up for afternoon tea and, for the more adventurous, the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Either way, look forward to seeing you.

Show Rules1. The Executive of the Staverton & Landscove Garden Show shall consist of a President, Chair,
Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Show Secretary and a Committee to be elected annually.
2. All exhibits are to be grown or made by the person by whom they are exhibited, except Sections C and X (flowers may be purchased).
3. No Exhibitor will be allowed to take more than one prize for the same kind of exhibit in any particular class.
4. How to Enter: send to the Show Entries Hon. Secretary your entries on the form that is in the schedule or on the web site (or may be phoned through), by Saturday 27th July 2019. Late entries at double entrance fee. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will late entries or alterations be accepted after 12 noon on Friday 2nd August 2019.
5. All exhibits to be brought to the Show Tent by 9:30 am on the morning of the Exhibition, nothing to be received after that time, and no exhibit to be taken away before 5:00 pm without special permission from the Secretary.
6. Vegetable exhibits must be washed and trimmed. Anyone sending in more or less than the number stated to be disqualified. Collections of vegetables to be shown in baskets, trays, or some other suitable receptacle. Onions, shallots, beans, peas, potatoes and fruit to be on a plate or dish. Rhubarb, carrots, leeks, spring onions, parsnip and beet to be tied in bunches. Lettuce to be shown in one container. Beet simply washed.
7. The Committee claim the right, if they think necessary, to visit any Exhibitor's garden or allotment, either before or after the show.
8. All exhibits, personal property, etc. shall be at the risk of the Exhibitor; the Committee shall not be liable for compensation for loss or damage from any cause whatsoever.
9. The decision of the Judges or Committee upon any question in dispute to be final. All protests to be lodged by 4:00 pm to the Secretary.
10. Prizes need not be awarded to exhibits considered to be below standard.
11. Cups and special prizes etc. will be presented by the President at 4:45 pm. Cash prizes can be collected from the Hon. Treasurer between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm, subject to any protest.
12. Protest Committee: Chairman, Secretary, President and/or any Committee member required.
13. Any Exhibitor winning a Perpetual Cup three years in succession will be presented with a replica.
14. Cups for engraving should be left with the Secretary after the presentation.
15. All exhibits must not have been previously shown at the Staverton & Landscove Garden Show.
16. All ages must be submitted on the entry form if under 16 years of age (Junior).
17. THE STAVERTON & LANDSCOVE GARDEN SHOW COMMITTEE WISH TO MAKE IT CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACCIDENT OCCURRING DURING THE SHOW, THE FUN DOG SHOW OR THE SPORTS EVENTS. THIS APPLIES TO BOTH SPECTATORS AND THOSE TAKING PART AND TO ANY DAMAGE OR LOSS OF PROPERTY.
