Ireland: Gateway to Europe EXPO
Ireland is the preferred location of US companies targeting the European market and beyond. It is the European headquarters for companies such as Google, Facebook, Zynga, Boston Scientific and hundreds more across various stages of development.
This Business Workshop EXPO enables US companies, investors, entrepreneurs and service providers to discover why these companies choose Ireland and the practicalities of establishing and running a European business from Ireland.
Ireland now comes to Boston in that a range of Irish service providers will host practical workshops on tax, recruitment, property, financial services, lifesciences, technology and others while US executives will talk about their experiences in Ireland. Attendees will be able to pick and choose what events they attend and for how long and even earn CPE (See over for moreinformation).

Expo FormatGuest speakers consisting of US business leaders and Irish economists and business leaders will make presentations in the main room at 8:00 am, 12:15 pm and 5 pm. Exhibitors in each sector will be available throughout the day. A written outline of the content in each session will be available and a sign in sheet will be maintained to allow professionals to claim up to 6 CPE hours.
9am - Financial Services & FundsSpeakers will include leading service providers from Law, Fund Administration and Banking. Topics will include matters such as Domiciling of Funds, the new UCITs regime, Treasury functions and the IFSC, Aircraft leasing, Regulatory, Accounting, Auditing tax and other compliance matters. 10am - Taxation & FDI IncentivesTopics will include Irelands taxation Environment, theincentives available for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Research and Development (R&D) tax credits, incentives for innovation and the Irish Holding Company regime. 11am - Labor MattersUS companies frequently cite the availability of talent as a key factor for their decision to locate their European operations in Ireland. Speakers will include leading providers from recruitment, law and pensions. 1.30pm - Technology & Digital Media & IPThe ICT sector in Ireland incorporates the full range of high tech activities including research and development, high value manufacturing, shared services, supply chain management, software development and technical support with the world’s leading technology companies operating in areas from computers to chips, telecommunica-tions to software and components to copiers located there. Ireland is also establishing itself as the European center for social media and gaming with an environment conducive to the creation, development and protection of IP including the management and trading of digital media rights and content. Speakers will include leading providers from IT, IP, law, accounting and tax. The session will provide an overview of the IT, IP and digital rights environment.Chaired by Neil Leyden, IDSC
