    HANK YOU FOR VISITING THE SPRING BOOK FAIRm delighted to report that the Spring Book Fair was a great success! Firstly, I would like to share that we raisedell over $2,000 for our school through sales during the Fair and got lots of new books for our school Library! I wantthank the wonderful volunteers who helped us throughout the week. I would especially like to mention Angelia Kan,

    hanchal Sahai, Carolyn Young, Sophia Chan and Jamie Wu, who were there for long hours throughout each day,very day, so that the Fair could remain open to everyone. It is the support of amazing volunteer parents like theseat make a huge difference at Garden Gate!

    TAFF!APPRECIATION!WEEK

    ast week was dedicated to honoring Garden Gates amazing Teachers and Staff! Tuesday was bring a card for youracher day. Wednesday was a coffee and refreshment morning, Thursday we had a Mediterranean lunch with a

    urprise Flash Mob performance by the students! This event would not have been possible, if it were not for the hardork of our amazing Coordinators, Sreejaya Kandy and Meena Vijaykar. Thank you also to all the parents who helpedth this event. The PTA deeply appreciates your hard work and support.

    ators, I hope youre ready for some serious Fun in the Sun tomorrow,from 3:00-5:00 p.m. There will be loads ofn activities, games, a booth for airbrush tattoos and popsicles for everyone to enjoy! Jamba Juice smoothies will be

    vailable for $2 each. We still need parents to step up to help our teachers run various booths and activities. The onlyay we can make this event successful is if we have enough volunteers supporting us.     th discussions about the following years budget, calendar etc. We will also be receiving updates on PTAs newojects and plans for next year. I urge you to join us and learn more about what is going on at Garden Gate.

    m sure you are all looking forward to Summer Break next week. It has been an eventful and enlightening year for allus! We had so many wonderful PTA events like the Reflections Contest, two Book Fairs, Safety Night, International

    ay, Book Exchange, Literacy Night, Red Ribbon Week, Fall Celebration and many more.

    ext years PTA Board will be led by my amazing successor, Sophia Chan! It has been a joy to serve the school ands children. If you have ideas and suggestions on how we can improve on these events and experiences, thenease join us! Garden Gate cannot have these programs and events without parental support. We will gladly accept

    our advice and help! We look forward to seeing you all at the Welcome Breakfast on August 19th!

    Please take a moment and stop by the Scrip table topurchase gift cards from the PTA. Keep in mind they canbe used for End of the Year Gifts, and your summeractivities and shopping!

    We have many different gift cards available in each of thefollowing categories: Dining/Restaurants, Entertainment,Grocery Stores, Gas, Department Stores, SpecialtyStores and American Express gift cards (no fee). Youcan also purchase Garden Gate gift certificates whichgive teachers the ability to select their own gift cards.

    DONT FORGET TO CHECKTHE LOST & FOUNDPlease remember to check theLost & Found for yourchilds misplaced items. It isoverflowing! On June 12th, allunclaimed items will be donatedto a charity. We would muchrather have them returned to theirowners, so take a walk to theLost & Found which is located behind the office building.

    BEFORE YOU MAKE TRAVEL PLANSAt the end of the school year students must be inattendance on the last day of school, June 12, 2013 toretain their place on the roster for the 2013 - 2014 schoolyear. At the beginning of the school year, students mustbe in attendance on the first day of school, August 19,

    2013 or they will not retain their place on the roster.When you are making travel plans, please consider thepossible ramifications. If you have any questions, pleasecontact Student Assignment at (408) 252-3000 ext. 110.

    FROM OUR SCHOOL NURSEJODI QUINTON, RN, MS, CNSIf you have stored your childs medication in the schoolhealth office, please make arrangements to take it homeon the last day of school. Please note: All medicationswill be released only to a parent or guardian. Anymedications that remain after the close of school will bediscarded. If your student will need medication during theschool day for the next school year, a Medication

    Administration form must be completed. The form isavailable in the school office. Please note that in orderfor medications to be given, both the doctor and theparent must sign the form. When completed, bring theMedication Administration form and the medication (in theoriginal container) to the secretaries in the school office.If you have any questions or concerns, please contactme at [email protected]

    MISSING TEXTBOOKS ANDLIBRARY BOOKSPlease take a moment and searchunder beds and on studentbookshelves for any overdue books

    from our library or lost classroomtextbooks. You will receive a bill forany books that have not beenreturned. Yearbooks and reportcards will be held until all balances have been cleared. Ifthe book is found after you have paid, your money will berefunded. Thank you for your support in teachingresponsibility to our students. The library will be closingMay 31 in order to take inventory.
