Time Savings During Shelter in Place
• Install on corridors that normallyexperience congestion to keepbuses moving and reducecrowding
• Allow buses to complete trips inless time and return into servicemore quickly
• Provide more frequent servicewith same number of buses,mitigating service reductions
• Are automatically removedwithin 120 days after emergencyorder is lifted, unless there is apublic process to make a lanepermanent

Program Benefits
• Equity: Transit lanes reduce the riskof exposure for people who havethe fewest travel choices andensures there is enough capacity onboard, especially for lower-incomeand people of color
• Public Health: Reducing crowdingon transit is imperative topreventing the spread of COVID-19
• Economic Recovery: A strongeconomic recovery is dependent onan efficient transit system
